Winner League round 10 most important game was a victory of GreenTops Netanya over one of their biggest challengers Hapoel Tel-Aviv 68-61 on Sunday night. The guests trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 68-61. GreenTops Netanya dominated on the defensive end, holding Hapoel Tel-Aviv to just 7 points in third quarter. 31 personal fouls committed by Hapoel Tel-Aviv helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Marco Killingsworth (203-82, college: Indiana, agency: Avi Zilberman) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). The other American import guard Ramel Bradley (188-85) contributed with 13 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. The former international Matan Naor (195-80) replied with 14 points for Hapoel Tel-Aviv. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. GreenTops Netanya (6-4) moved-up to fourth place. Newly promoted Hapoel Tel-Aviv dropped to the fifth position with five games lost. They share it with Hapoel J-M and Maccabi Rishon. Round 6
Elizur Ashkelon - Bnei Hasharon 94-70

Rather predictable result when seventh ranked Ironi Ashkelon (4-6) rolled over at home 10th ranked Bnei Hasharon (4-6) 94-70 on Thursday. The game without a history. Ironi Ashkelon led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. Quite impressive performance for American guard Marcus Moore (198-80, college: Washington St., agency: Laszlo Vinko Group) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 8 rebounds. Swingman Gur Porat (197-79) contributed with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American forward Jumaine Jones (203-79, college: Georgia) replied with 4 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists and American-Mexican swingman Romel Beck (201-82, college: UNLV, agency: Interperformances) added 17 points in the effort for Bnei Hasharon. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Ironi Ashkelon have a solid four-game winning streak. Despite that victory Ironi Ashkelon went down to eighth position due to points difference, which they share with defeated Bnei Hasharon. Maccabi Rishon - Maccabi Ashdod 75-84

Bottom-ranked Maccabi Ashdod managed to get a second victory on Wednesday night. This time they won against seventh-ranked Maccabi Rishon in Rishon Le-Zion 84-75. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 27-15. But Maccabi Rishon won third quarter 25-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American forward Diamon Simpson (201-87, college: St.Mary's, CA) notched a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international point guard Dror Hagag (178-78, agency: Avi Zilberman) supported him with 19 points and 4 assists. Five Maccabi Ashdod players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 27 points and 15 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) by American forward Julian Wright (203-87, college: Kansas) did not help to save the game for Maccabi Rishon. His fellow American import point guard Willie Warren (193-89, college: Oklahoma, agency: Interperformances) added 23 points for lost side. Maccabi Ashdod maintains twelfth position with 2-8 record. Maccabi Rishon lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth place with five games lost. They share the position with Hapoel T-A and Hapoel J-M. Maccabi Ashdod will meet at home higher ranked Hapoel Tel-Aviv (#5) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
