Durham's double-double lands him National League Player of the Week award - Dec 26, 2012

Allen Durham
24-year old forward Allen Durham (198-F-88) had a very impressive game in the last round for second-ranked Hapoel Afula and receives a Eurobasket.com National League Player of the Week award for round 10.
He had a double-double of 31 points and 17 rebounds, while his team crushed Maccabi K/B (#14, 1-9) with 20-point margin 97-77. Hapoel Afula maintains the 2nd position in Israeli National League. They are still close to the very top. Hapoel Afula would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 8-2 record. Durham turned to be Hapoel Afula's top player in his first season with the team. Grace Bible College graduate has very impressive stats this year. Durham is league's best scorer averaging so far 22.2ppg. Durham is in league's top in rebounds (2nd best: 14.5rpg) and averages solid 1.1bpg and 54.2% FGP. Worth to mention Durham played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball.

Second best performed player last round was Anton Kazarnovski (205-F/C-85) of Hapoel Kazrin. He is naturalized Russian forward in his first season at Hapoel Kazrin. In the last game Kazarnovski recorded impressive double-double of 32 points and 12 rebounds. It was enough for Hapoel Kazrin to edge slightly lower-ranked Maccabi K/G (#11, 3-7) by 6 points 83-77. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. But Hapoel Kazrin managed to improve slightly their position in standings taking 9th place. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 4-6 record. Kazarnovski is a newcomer at Hapoel Kazrin and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Vernon Teel (193-G-87, agency: FCM) of Elitzur Ramla (#12). Teel got into 30-points club by scoring 32 points in the last round. He went also for six rebounds and eight assists. Despite Teel's great performance Elitzur Ramla lost 99-102 to the higher-ranked Ironi Nahariya (#5, 7-3). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Elitzur Ramla can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 2-8 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Too bad for Teel he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Teel has a very solid season. In 2 games in Israel he scored 24.0ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Lenny Daniel (203-F-87) of Maccabi K/G - 26 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Adam Constantine (206-F-88) of Hapoel K/S - 25 points and 12 rebounds
6. Johndre Jefferson (207-F-88) of Elitzur Ramla - 19 points and 13 rebounds
7. Brian Laing (195-G/F-85) of Macc.B.Yaakov - 21 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists
8. Amit Tamir (208-C/F-79) of Ironi Ramat Gan - 22 points and 11 rebounds
9. Gabe Blair (203-F-87) of Ironi Nes-Ziona - 20 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists
10. Raviv Pitshon (202-PF-89) of Ironi Nahariya - 16 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

25-year old shooting guard Khalif Wyatt (193-SG-91, agency: Pensack Sports) had a great game in the last round for Hapoel Holon and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 9.
