We bring you last week's top performances from Israelis who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

Alex Tyus
Alex Tyus
#1. This week's number one is an international center Alex Tyus (205-88, college: Florida, currently plays in Italy). He led Cantu to an easy victory against the 13th-ranked Sutor Montegranaro (3-9) crushing them 100-79 in the Italian SerieA in Sunday night's game. Tyus scored 19 points, had 7 rebounds and made 2 blocks in a mere 16 minutes on the court; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his second season in pro basketball. Mapooro Cantu (8-4) is placed fourth in the SerieA. It's Tyus' first year with the team. This season Tyus averages: 10.0ppg, 4.8rpg, 1.1bpg, 2FGP: 72.1%(49-68) and FT: 61.1% in the 12 games he played so far. He is a naturalized American. Tyus is currently a member of the Israeli senior national team. He used to play for Maccabi Ashdod in Israeli league.

Oded Brandwein
Oded Brandwein
#2. Second place goes to former U20 international guard Oded Brandwein (186-88, agency: N.E.T., currently plays in Poland), who plays in the Polish TBL. Brandwein could not help Energa Czarni (8-6) in their last game on Sunday. Despite his very good performance Energa Czarni was defeated 104-94 on the road by the leading PGE Turow. Brandwein was the top scorer with 31 points. He also added 7 assists. Brandwein's overall stats this season are: 8.5ppg, 2.9apg, 2FGP: 38.2% and FT: 81.6%. He has a dual citizenship: Israeli and Polish. Former Elitzur Yavne starter played for the Israeli U20 national team in 2008.

Yotam Halperin
Yotam Halperin
#3. The Israeli player who performed third best last week abroad was an international shooting guard Yotam Halperin (193-84, currently plays in Germany). He contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Eisbaeren Bremerhaven crushing them 104-71 in the German BBL in Wednesday night's game. Halperin scored 7 points and had 3 steals. FC Bayern Muenchen (9-6) is placed fifth in the BBL. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. Halperin's overall stats this season are: 6.4ppg, 2.0rpg, 3.0apg, 1.4spg, 2FGP: 71.4%(20-28), 3FGP: 26.5% and FT: 85.0%. He is also a member of the Israeli senior national team.

Robert Rothbart
Robert Rothbart
#4. Center Robert Rothbart (217-86, agency: INVICTUS Sports Group, currently plays in Poland) was not able to help Start Gdynia (4-9) in their game against Trefl Sopot (9-4) in the Polish TBL. He recorded 7 points, 5 rebounds and 2 blocks. Start Gdynia was crushed 95-56 at home by the second-ranked Trefl Sopot. Rothbart has relatively good stats this season: 13.0ppg, 7.1rpg, 1.2bpg and 1.1spg. He is another player who holds two passports: Bosnia and Herzegovina and Israeli. Rothbart is also Israeli national team player.

The list of other players, who all have Israeli passport but never been selected to any of Israeli national teams:

#1. Jason Thomas (191-G-82, college: American, currently plays in Sweden) led Boras Basket to an easy victory against the ninth-ranked KFUM Jamtland (5-13) crushing them 100-75 in the Swedish Basketligan on Wednesday night. Thomas scored 11 points, had 7 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 26 minutes. Boras Basket (13-5) is placed third in the Basketligan. Thomas has relatively good stats this year: 12.4ppg, 6.9rpg, 2.2apg and 1.1spg in the 18 games he played so far. He is a naturalized American. Thomas used to play for Ironi Kfar Hamaccabia Ramat Gan in Israeli league.

#2. Guy Aud (188-G-89, currently plays in Germany), who plays in the German ProA (second division) could not help one of league's weakest teams Finke Baskets (6-9) to beat NBC (6-9). He scored 9 points, had 4 rebounds and dished 7 assists in 38 minutes. But Finke Baskets lost 70-75 at home to the higher-ranked (#11) NBC. It was Finke Baskets' third consecutive loss in a row.
