Top ranked Ironi Nes-Ziona (10-2) recorded its second loss on the court of fifth ranked Ironi Nahariya on Tuesday night. Visitors were defeated by Ironi Nahariya 88-72. It ended at the same time the ten-game winning streak of Ironi Nes-Ziona. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Ironi Nahariya. Ironi Nes-Ziona managed to win second period 19-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. 24 personal fouls committed by Ironi Nes-Ziona helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American guard Nate Miller (193-87, college: Bowling Green, agency: KMG Sports Management) who scored 24 points. Guard Aviram Zelkovits (193-89) chipped in 18 points, 7 assists and 4 steals. At the other side the best for losing team was American swingman Bilal Benn (196-86, college: Niagara) who recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Afula. Third ranked Hapoel Afula faced second-best Elitzur Yavne. Host Hapoel Afula (9-3) defeated guests from Yavne (8-4) 90-75. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Elitzur Yavne. It was a key game for the second position in the league. It was a good game for forward Oz Blayzer (199-92) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 17 rebounds. Allen Durham contributed with 19 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Hapoel Afula's coach Avner Yeor allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Guard Noam Matalon (197-87, agency: Avi Zilberman) replied with 19 points and 4 assists for Elitzur Yavne. Hapoel Afula moved-up to second place, which they share with Ironi Nahariya and Hod Hasharon. Elitzur Yavne at the other side dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. They share it with Ironi Ramat Gan. Hapoel Afula will play against Hapoel Kazrin (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Elitzur Yavne will play against Maccabi Kiryat Bialik (#14) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game in Kfar Saba was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Hod Hasharon (9-3) played at the court of 8th ranked Hapoel Kfar Saba (5-7). Hod Hasharon defeated Hapoel Kfar Saba 80-68 on Tuesday. Worth to mention a great performance of B.A. Walker who helped to win the game recording 30 points. The best for the losing side was Harel Karni with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. Hod Hasharon moved-up to second place, which they share with Ironi Nahariya and Hapoel Afula. Loser Hapoel Kfar Saba keeps the eighth position with seven games lost. They share it with Hapoel Kazrin. Hod Hasharon will meet at home Ironi Nahariya (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Hapoel Kfar Saba will play against Kiryat Tivon (#12) in Kiryat Tivon and hope to secure a win.

The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 15-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 93-78. Ironi Kiryat Ata made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. Ironi Kiryat Ata had a 29-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international power forward Chris Watson (200-75, college: Niagara) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 7 rebounds (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) and guard Ilan Nanikashvili (187-79, agency: Ronsport) who added 15 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest.
