The most exciting game of round 13 in the Winner League took place in Netanya. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 4th placed GreenTops Netanya (7-6) to eighth ranked Bnei Hasharon (6-7) 86-83 on Monday evening. GreenTops Netanya cut a 16-point halftime deficit to three at the end of the game. Bnei Hasharon made 28-of-35 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. 31 personal fouls committed by GreenTops Netanya helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American players dominated the game. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Jumaine Jones (203-79, college: Georgia) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 9 rebounds. Guard J.R. Reynolds (188-84, college: Virginia) contributed with 18 points and 5 assists for the winners. Power forward Marco Killingsworth (203-82, college: Indiana, agency: Avi Zilberman) answered with 18 points and 8 rebounds for GreenTops Netanya. Bnei Hasharon moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Maccabi Rishon. GreenTops Netanya at the other side keeps the fourth position with six games lost. They share it with Hapoel J-M. Bnei Hasharon is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Maccabi Ashdod (#12) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. GreenTops Netanya will play against Hapoel J-M (#5) in Jerusalem and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

The former international Dagan Yavzuri (193-85) stepped up and scored 30 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners and Kenny Hayes chipped in 17 points. Galil Gilboa's coach Lior Lubin allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side American Donta Smith (201-83, college: SE Illinois JC) responded with 21 points and 4 assists. Galil Gilboa moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Maccabi Ashdod. Maccabi Haifa at the other side keeps the third position with five games lost. Galil Gilboa will play against higher ranked Hapoel Holon (#10) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Maccabi Haifa will play against the league's second-placed Hapoel Eilat (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.

The game in Tel-Aviv was also worth to mention about. Fifth ranked Hapoel J-M (7-6) played at the court of 8th ranked Hapoel Tel-Aviv (5-8). Hapoel J-M defeated Hapoel Tel-Aviv 98-83. American players dominated also this game. Josh Duncan fired 22 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Hapoel J-M moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Netanya. Hapoel Tel-Aviv lost their fifth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the eighth position with eight games lost. Hapoel J-M's next round opponent will be GreenTops Netanya (#4) at home. Hapoel Tel-Aviv will play against Ironi Ashkelon (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last two games of round 13 Maccabi Rishon was beaten by Hapoel Eilat on the road 80-74. Maccabi Ashdod lost to Hapoel Holon on its own court 103-107.
The most impressive performance of 13th round was 34 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 4 assists by Diamon Simpson of Maccabi Ashdod.


Maccabi T-A - Elizur Ashkelon 80-59

Winner League top team - Maccabi T-A (12-1) had no problems winning another game on Monday. This time they crushed seventh ranked Ironi Ashkelon (5-8) in Tel-Aviv 80-59. The game was mostly controlled by Maccabi T-A. Ironi Ashkelon managed to win second period 20-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Ironi Ashkelon to just 5 points in third quarter. Maccabi T-A looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American swingman Devin Smith (196-83, college: Virginia) nailed 19 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winning side and the former international point guard Moran Roth (178-82, agency: Avi Zilberman) accounted for 10 points and 6 assists. Hapoel Eilat - Maccabi Rishon 80-74

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Hapoel Eilat (9-4) beat at home 6th ranked Maccabi Rishon (6-7) 80-74. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. It looked good early as Maccabi Rishon took an 5-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Hapoel Eilat had a 19-13 second period charge getting the lead and Maccabi Rishon was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 74-80. 24 personal fouls committed by Maccabi Rishon helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American guard Scotty Hopson (200-89, college: Tennessee) fired 20 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. The former international point guard Afik Nissim (186-81) chipped in 16 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Hapoel Eilat players scored in double figures.
