We bring you last week's top performances from Israelis who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

Alex Tyus
Alex Tyus
#1. This week's number one is an international center Alex Tyus (205-88, college: Florida, currently plays in Italy). He contributed to an easy victory against the 11th-ranked SAIE3 BO (6-9) 79-64 in the Italian SerieA in Sunday night's game. Tyus scored 8 points, had 5 rebounds and made 2 blocks in 19 minutes on the court. Mapooro Cantu (11-4) is placed fourth in the SerieA. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. This year Tyus averages: 9.8ppg, 4.8rpg, 1.1bpg, 2FGP: 75.6%(62-82) and FT: 62.2% in the 15 games he played so far. He is a naturalized American. Tyus is currently a member of the Israeli senior national team. He used to play for Maccabi Ashdod in Israeli league.

Omri Casspi
Omri Casspi
#2. Second place goes to an international small forward Omri Casspi (204-88, currently plays in NBA), who plays in the NBA. Casspi could not help the Cleveland Cavaliers (10-31) in their last game on Monday. Despite his good performance the Cleveland Cavaliers were defeated 124-118 on the road by the Sacramento Kings. Casspi scored 10 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Casspi's overall stats this season are: 4.7ppg, 2.5rpg, 2FGP: 38.8%, 3FGP: 37.7% and FT: 55.6%. He is in the roster of the Israeli senior national team.

Robert Rothbart
Robert Rothbart
#3. The Israeli player who performed third best last week abroad was an international center Robert Rothbart (217-86, agency: INVICTUS Sports Group, currently plays in Poland). Rothbart was the major contributor in a 2-point Start Gdynia's victory against one of league's weakest teams Kotwica (4-12) 66-64 in the Polish TBL on Sunday night. He had a double-double by scoring 15 points and getting 10 rebounds in 23 minutes. KS Start Gdynia (5-11) is placed tenth in the TBL. They ended the series of three consecutive loses. It's Rothbart's first season with the team. Rothbart has relatively good stats this year: 12.9ppg, 7.2rpg, 2FGP: 55.4%(77-139) and FT: 61.9% in the 15 games. He has a dual citizenship: Bosnia and Herzegovina and Israeli. Ex-Hapoel Galil Elyon player is also a member of the Israeli senior national team.

Oded Brandwein
Oded Brandwein
#4. Guard Oded Brandwein (186-88, agency: N.E.T., currently plays in Poland) was not able to help Energa Czarni (8-8) in their game against Anwil (10-6) in the Polish TBL. He was the second best scorer with 7 points. Brandwein also added 3 passes in 27 minutes. Energa Czarni was crushed 78-57 in Wloclawek by the higher-ranked (#4) Anwil. It was Energa Czarni's fourth consecutive loss in a row. This year Brandwein's overall stats are: 8.5ppg and 2.9apg in the 13 games. He is another player who holds two passports: Israeli and Polish. Brandwein used to play for the Israeli U20 national team back in 2008.

Yotam Halperin
Yotam Halperin
#5. International shooting guard Yotam Halperin (193-84, currently plays in Germany) managed to help FC Bayern Muenchen to win against the 14th-ranked BBC Bayreuth (8-11) 84-72 in the German BBL on Sunday night. He recorded only 4 points. FC Bayern Muenchen (12-6) is placed fourth in the BBL. It was his team's seventh consecutive victory in a row. Halperin's total stats this season are: 6.2ppg, 1.8rpg, 2.7apg and 1.3spg. He plays currently for the Israeli national team.

Yuval Naimy
Yuval Naimy
#6. Point guard Yuval Naimy (188-85, currently plays in Eurocup) was not able to secure a victory for Triumph Lyubertsy (0-2) in their game against Buducnost (1-1) in the Eurocup. Naimy cannot count it as his best performance. He recorded only 3 points in 9 minutes on the court. The fourth-placed Triumph Lyubertsy was crushed 90-69 in Podgorica by the higher-ranked (#3) Buducnost in the group I of Eurocup. There are only four games left until the end of the Eurocup Top 16. So now every game will be critical. This year Naimy's total stats are: 9.1ppg, 1.5rpg and 2.0apg in the eight games. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Israeli National Team roster.

Jeremiah Kreisberg
Jeremiah Kreisberg
#7. Former U20 international center Jeremiah Kreisberg (208-92, currently plays college basketball in the States) contributed to an easy victory against the Oberlin College (1-1) crushing them 104-39 in the NCAA last Saturday. Kreisberg scored 8 points. The Yale University has conference record this season. Kreisberg has averaged so far 9.1ppg, 1.5rpg and 2.0apg. He is a naturalized American. Kreisberg used to play for the Israeli U20 national team two years ago. Strangely he has never played in Israel.

Tom Maayan
Tom Maayan
#8. Point guard Tom Maayan (185-93, currently studies in the States) couldn't help the Seton Hall (1-4) in their game against the Marquette University (3-0) in the NCAA. He recorded 5 points and added 3 assists in 11 minutes. The Seton Hall lost 62-69 in Milwaukee, WI to the Marquette University. It was Seton Hall's fourth consecutive loss in a row. This year Maayan has relatively solid stats: 10.9ppg, 3.4rpg, 6.5apg and 1.3spg in the 17 games. He used to play for the Israeli U18 national team back in 2011.

The list of other players, who all have Israeli passport but never been selected to any of Israeli national teams:

#1. Jason Thomas (191-G-82, college: American, currently plays in Sweden), who plays in the Swedish Basketligan could not help Boras Basket (14-7) in their last game on Friday. Despite Thomas' good performance Boras Basket was defeated 92-88 on the road by the lower-ranked Solna Vikings (#5). He scored 11 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. This season Thomas has relatively solid stats: 12.8ppg, 7.0rpg, 2.1apg and 1.1spg. He is a naturalized American. Thomas used to play for Ironi Kfar Hamaccabia Ramat Gan in Israeli league.

#2. Joshua Reisman (188-G-82, college: Gonzaga, currently plays in Mexico) was not able to help Lechugueros (12-28) in their game against Panteras (28-12) in the Mexican LNBP (second division). Reisman cannot count Wednesday's game as one of the best ones. He scored only 2 points in 10 minutes. Lechugueros lost 90-98 in Aguascalientes to the much higher-ranked (#5) Panteras. It was Lechugueros' sixth consecutive loss in a row. Reisman has averaged so far 1.7ppg, 2.0rpg and 1.2apg in the six games he played so far. He is a naturalized American. Reisman used to play for Hapoel Holon in Israeli league.

#3. Guy Aud (188-G-89, currently plays in Germany) managed to help Finke Baskets Paderborn to win against the closely-ranked Oettinger Rockets Gotha (6-11) 97-85 in the German ProA (second division) in Saturday night's game. Aud scored only 3 points. Finke Baskets Paderborn (7-10) is placed 12th in the ProA. It was his team's first victory after four consecutive loses. Aud belongs to league's best passers and is ranked #2. He has very reliable stats this season: 10.9ppg, 3.4rpg, 6.5apg and 1.3spg. Aud has a dual citizenship: Israeli and German. Worth to mention he played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball.
