Hapoel Kazrin - Maccabi K/B 114-108

Not a big story in a game when 14th ranked Maccabi Kiryat Bialik (1-13) lost on the road to ninth ranked Hapoel Kazrin (6-8) 114-108 on Wednesday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Hapoel Kazrin made 23-of-28 free shots (82.1 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. American forward Gary Johnson (198-88, college: Texas) notched a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 17 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import guard Lawrence Westbrook (183-88, college: Minnesota) supported him with 32 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Even a double-double of 26 points and 10 rebounds by American forward Dallis Joyner (201-90, college: Stony Brook) did not help to save the game for Maccabi Kiryat Bialik. Guard Ziv Tavor (182-75) added 20 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Maccabi Kiryat Bialik's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Hapoel Kazrin moved-up to eighth place. Maccabi Kiryat Bialik lost seventh consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 13 games lost. Hapoel Kazrin will meet Kiryat Tivon (#12) in the next round. Maccabi Kiryat Bialik will play against Elitzur Ramla.
