Here is the weekly review of the top performing Israeli players, who play currently abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an international guard Liron Cohen (173-82, currently plays in Italy). Cohen led Taranto to a victory over the eighth-ranked Orvieto (3-9) 71-54 in the Italian A1 last Sunday. She was MVP of the game. Cohen scored 19 points and added 5 passes. Goldbet Taranto (8-3) is placed fourth in the A1. It was her team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. It's Cohen's first season with the team. She has relatively good stats this year: 11.9ppg, 2.0rpg, 2.5apg, 2FGP: 51.2%, 3FGP: 48.2%(27-56) and FT: 74.1%. Cohen is currently a member of the Israeli senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international shooting guard Shay Doron (175-85, college: Maryland, currently plays in Turkey), who plays in the Turkish TKBL. She could not help Tarsus Bld (9-5) in their last game. Despite Doron's very good performance Tarsus Bld was badly defeated 81-64 at home by the one of league's weakest teams (#13) Besiktas. She was the second best scorer with 15 points. Doron also added 3 steals in 27 minutes. This year Doron averages: 9.9ppg, 2.6rpg, 2.9apg, 2.2spg, 2FGP: 41.1%, 3FGP: 9.1% and FT: 75.9% in the 10 games she played so far. Ex-Elitzur Ramla player is in the roster of the Israeli senior national team.

   #3. The Israeli player who performed third best last week abroad was an international forward Ekaterina Abramzon (185-87, currently plays in Romania). She was the major contributor in a Alba Iulia's victory against the eighth-ranked Sp.Studentesc (8-9) 73-60 in the Romanian Liga Nationala in Saturday night's game. Abramzon scored 17 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and dished 4 assists. CSU Alba Iulia (12-4) is placed fourth in the Liga Nationala. It was her team's eighth consecutive victory in a row. Abramzon's overall stats this season are: 7.0ppg, 4.2rpg, 2.0apg, 1.6spg, 2FGP: 45.2%, 3FGP: 25.0% and FT: 71.9%. She has a dual citizenship: Russian and Israeli. Ex-Elizur Ramla player is also a member of the Israeli senior national team.

Eloisa Katz
Eloisa Katz
   #4. Power forward Eloisa Katz (182-91, currently plays in Canada) contributed to an easy victory against the UQAM (8-9) 60-43 in the Canadian university league CIS last Wednesday. Katz scored 6 points in 16 minutes. The Bishop's University has a solid 6-3 record this season. This year Katz's overall stats are: 4.1ppg and 2.7rpg in the nine games. She is another player who holds two passports: Argentinian and Israeli. Katz used to play for the Israeli U20 national team back in 2011.


One more player who has never been selected to any of national teams, but has Israeli passport:

   #1. Experienced Sue Bird (175-PG-80, college: Connecticut, currently plays in Euroleague) managed to help UMMC Ekaterinburg in a victory against the fourth-ranked Mondeville (4-6) crushing them 79-58 in the Euroleague in Wednesday night's game. She scored 5 points, had 8 boards, dished 10 assists and stole 3 balls in 34 minutes. It was his first game for UMMC Ekaterinburg this season. Her team is placed first in group C. So far her team won all ten games in the Regular Season. There are only two games left until the end of the Euroleague Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It's Bird's first year with the team. Bird is a naturalized American. Strangely she has never played in Israel.

Maccabi Bnot Ashdod (D1) confirmed in their roster American guard Tia Presley (178, college: Washington State, agency: LBM Management). She has played there for the last two seasons. In 28 games Last season she scored 8.3ppg. She alsoPlayed two Eurocup games she recorded just 0.5ppg and 1.0spg last season. Presley was voted All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention in 2015 at her college time. Presley graduated from Washington State in 2015 and it is her third season as a professional player. Bnot Maccabi Ramat Gan (D1) re-signed 26-year old American power forward Dannielle Diamant (196-91, college: Northwestern). She has played there for the last two seasons. In 29 D1 games she averaged 8.3ppg, 6.2rpg and 2.0apg last season. Diamant's team won Israeli Cup. She received All-Big Ten Honorable Mention award back in 2013 at her college time. A.S. Ramat Hasharon Electra (D1) signed 19-year old guard Eden Rotberg (167-98) from Hapoel Zichron/Maagan Michael. In 18 D1 games she had 9.4ppg, 2.6rpg and 1.2apg last season. The previous (15-16) season Rotberg played at Elitzur Holon where in 21 games she recorded 3.3ppg. She helped them to make it to the Israeli Cup Semifinals.
