Tamara James
American Tamara James (178-G/F-84) had a very impressive game in the last round for league's second-best Elitzur Ramla and that's her to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 15.
The 28-year old swingman had the game-high 35 points adding eight rebounds and four assists for Elitzur Ramla in her team's victory, helping them to crush H.R. Le-Zion (#9, 4-9) with 18-point margin 88-70. Elitzur Ramla maintains the 2nd position in Israeli D1. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Elitzur Ramla will need more victories to improve their 9-5 record. In the team's last game James had a remarkable 80.0% from 2-point range and got three three-pointers out of 6 attempts. She turned to be Elitzur Ramla's top player in her first season with the team. Tamara James averages this season 16.0ppg and 6.0rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 22-year old American forward Courtney Hurt (185-F-90) of Elitzur Netanya. Hurt impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 26 points and 10 rebounds. It was enough for Elitzur Netanya to edge the higher-ranked Maccabi R.Hen (#3, 6-7) by 4 points 75-71. This victory allowed Elitzur Netanya to leave bottom place moving a little bit up to 8th position in the standings. Her team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 4-9 record. Hurt is a newcomer at Elitzur Netanya and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.8ppg (#1). She also registered 9.0 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was American Avery Warley (190-F-87) of Elitzur Holon (#6). Warley scored 23 points and grabbed thirteen rebounds (!!!). She was a key player of Elitzur Holon, leading her team to a 76-54 easy win against slightly higher-ranked Ramat Hasharon (#4, 6-7). The chances of Elitzur Holon ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 8 games, recording just six victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Warley could help Elitzur Holon to bring them higher in the standings. Warley has a great season in Israel. After 14 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.2rpg (5th best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Shey Peddy (170-PG-88) of H.R. Le-Zion - 21 points and 8 rebounds
5. Ashley Shields (180-SG-85) of Maccabi Ashdod - 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists
6. Charde Houston (185-F-86) of Maccabi Ashdod - 20 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists
7. Maurita Reid (173-PG-85) of Elitzur Netanya - 20 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists
8. Allison Hightower (178-G-88) of Elitzur Ramla - 15 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists
9. Kerri Gardin (186-F-84) of Elitzur Holon - 11 points, 13 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Khadijah Rushdan (175-G-88) of Maccabi R.Hen - 20 points and 8 rebounds

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

D1 Round 12: Hap.Petah Tikva defeat leader Maccabi Ramat Gan - 52 minutes ago
What a coincidence that all visitors won their games. The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Maccabi Ramat Gan (9-2) in Ramat Hen on Monday night. Hosts were edged by eighth ranked Hap.Petah Tikva (3-8) 81-79. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Maccabi Ramat Gan. Hap.Petah Tikva made 21-of-25 free shots (84.0 percent) during the game. It was a good game for American swingman Crystal Bradford (183-93, college: Cent.Michigan, agency: LBM Management) who le...   [read more]
