Hurt
American forward Courtney Hurt (185-F-90) put on an amazing game in the last round for Elitzur Netanya, receiving a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 17.
The 22-year old player had a double-double of 23 points and 16 rebounds, while her team edged out Ramat Hasharon (#5, 6-9) 79-75. Elitzur Netanya is placed at 8th position in Israeli D1. Elitzur Netanya is currently ranked second from the bottom. They need more victories to improve their 5-10 record. Hurt turned to be Elitzur Netanya's top player in her first season with the team. Former Virginia Commonwealth University star has very solid stats this year. Hurt is league's best scorer averaging so far 22.3ppg. Hurt is in league's top in rebounds (5th best: 9.4rpg) and averages impressive 57.6% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was 25-year old American Alexis Gray-Lawson (173-PG-87) of Ramat Hasharon. Gray-Lawson had a very good evening with 25 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists. Bad luck as Ramat Hasharon was edged by the lower-ranked Elitzur Netanya (#8, 5-10) 79-75. This loss caused Ramat Hasharon to drop to 5th position in the standings. Her team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 6-9 record. Gray-Lawson is a newcomer at Ramat Hasharon, but is already one of team's top players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 17.9ppg (#7). She also registered 4.9 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was American swingman Karima Christmas (182-G/F-89) of Maccabi R.Hen (#3). Christmas scored 16 points and grabbed eleven rebounds (!!!). She was a key player of Maccabi R.Hen, leading her team to a 71-59 win against #4 ranked Hap.Petah Tikva in a game of the week. Maccabi R.Hen needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 8 victories and 7 lost games. Christmas has a great season in Israel. After 15 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.7rpg (4th best). She also has 2.3spg and FGP: 51.5%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Adaora Elonu (185-F-90) of Galil Elion - 22 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists
5. Rebekah Gardner (185-G-90) of Hap.Petah Tikva - 23 points and 11 rebounds
6. Jenna Smith (191-C-88) of Maccabi R.Hen - 24 points and 8 rebounds
7. Jessica Lawson (191-C-86) of H.R. Le-Zion - 15 points and 13 rebounds
8. Alexis Hornbuckle (180-G-85) of Elitzur Holon - 21 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists
9. Shey Peddy (170-PG-88) of H.R. Le-Zion - 24 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Vanessa Gidden (193-C/F-85) of Hap.Petah Tikva - 18 points and 10 rebounds

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
