Dallis
Joyner
American Dallis Joyner (203-F-90) put on an amazing game in the last round for Maccabi K/B and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com National League Player of the Week award for round 17.
The 22-year old forward had a double-double of 26 points and thirteen rebounds, while his team edged out Ironi Nes-Ziona (#2, 14-3) 90-89. Maccabi K/B is placed at 13th position in Israeli National League. The season is in a full swing, so it's only a dream for the team to make it into top half of the standings. For contrary they may face relegation if the situation turns from bad to worse. Maccabi K/B have already lost 14 games and recorded just three victories. Joyner turned to be Maccabi K/B's top player in his first season with the team. State University of New York,Stony Brook graduate has very impressive stats this year. Joyner is in league's top in rebounds (5th best: 10.2rpg) and averages solid 63.1% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 25-year old American forward Lenny Daniel (203-F-87) of Maccabi K/G. Daniel impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 32 points and 14 rebounds. Bad luck as Maccabi K/G lost that game 75-101 to the higher-ranked Ironi Ramat Gan (#7, 9-8). This loss caused Maccabi K/G to slide to the very bottom (14) position in the standings. 14 lost games are too many comparing to just three victories Maccabi K/G managed to get this year. Daniel is a newcomer at Maccabi K/G and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 23.9ppg (#1). He also registered 10.3 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was Welsh Tal Michael Dunne (197-F-87) of second-ranked Ironi Nes-Ziona. Dunne showcased his all-around game by recording 28 points, thirteen rebounds (!!!) and nine assists in the last round. Despite Dunne's great performance Ironi Nes-Ziona lost 89-90 to the lower-ranked Maccabi K/B (#13, 3-14). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Ironi Nes-Ziona had another "accident". It may be a crucial game and cause dropping from the group of top ranked teams. The record is still good, but 3rd lost game is hopefully really an accident. Dunne's teammates are also very good. That's why having such high stats is even more impressive. Dunne has a great season in Israel. After 16 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 4.3apg (8th best). Tal Michael Dunne has also Israeli passport and can play in the league with a status of domestic player.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Aviram Zelkovits (193-G-89) of Ironi Nahariya - 31 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists
5. Daniel Sosnitzki (F-89) of Hapoel K/S - 26 points and 11 rebounds
6. Nate Miller (193-G-87) of Ironi Nahariya - 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists
7. Johndre Jefferson (207-C/F-88) of Elitzur Ramla - 16 points and 18 rebounds
8. Jermaine Hall (196-F-80) of Macc.B.Yaakov - 26 points and 9 rebounds
9. Joshua Alexander (193-G-87) of Macc.B.Yaakov - 31 points and 9 rebounds
10. Tyrone Kent (196-G/F-86) of Ironi Ramat Gan - 27 points and 5 rebounds

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

National League Round 24 of Regular Season - 17 hours ago
There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in National League. There was no lack of excitement in the last round games. The round ended with favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin. The most shocking disappointment of round 24 was only three-point a home defeat of second-best Hapoel B/S (15-9) to fourth ranked Hapoel Kfar Saba (16-8) 82-79 in the game for the second place. It was a key game for the second position in the league. 26 personal fouls committ...   [read more]

Winner League Round 23: Maccabi T-A beat Hapoel Tel-Aviv in a derby game - 1 day ago
Coincidentally all hosts won their games. The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Tel-Aviv: Maccabi T-A (#1) and Hapoel Tel-Aviv (#7). Maccabi T-A (17-6) crushed visiting Hapoel Tel-Aviv (11-12) by 26 points 100-74. The game was mostly controlled by Maccabi T-A. Hapoel Tel-Aviv managed to win fourth quarter 28-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Hapoel Tel-Aviv 46-20 including a 32-15 advantage in defen...   [read more]
