Avery Warley
American Avery Warley (190-F-87) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Elitzur Holon and that's her to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 18.
The 25-year old forward had a double-double of 23 points and eleven rebounds, while her team outclassed Elitzur Netanya (#9, 5-11) with 37-point margin 97-60. Elitzur Holon is placed at 5th position in Israeli D1. Elitzur Holon is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 7-9 record. Warley turned to be Elitzur Holon's top player in her first season with the team. Liberty University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Warley is in league's top in rebounds (6th best: 9.3rpg) and averages solid 62.7% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 22-year old American point guard Riquna Williams (170-PG-90) of H.R. Le-Zion. Williams impressed basketball fans with 40 points and 5 rebounds. It was enough for H.R. Le-Zion to edge Hap.Petah Tikva (6-10) by 4 points 73-69. This victory allowed H.R. Le-Zion to leave bottom place moving a little bit up to 6th position in the standings. Her team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 6-10 record. Williams is one of the most experienced players at H.R. Le-Zion and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was another Elitzur Holon's star - American Alexis Hornbuckle (180-G-85). Hornbuckle showcased her all-around game by recording 26 points, six rebounds and seven assists in the last round. She was another key player of Elitzur Holon, helping her team with a 97-60 easy win against the lower-ranked Elitzur Netanya (#9, 5-11). The chances of Elitzur Holon ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 9 games, recording just seven victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Hornbuckle could help Elitzur Holon to bring them higher in the standings. Hornbuckle has a very solid season. In 8 games in Israel she scored 17.8ppg. She also has 7.0rpg, 5.0apg and 3.5spg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Ashley Shields (180-SG-85) of Maccabi Ashdod - 14 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists
5. Vanessa Gidden (193-C/F-85) of Hap.Petah Tikva - 20 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists
6. Karima Christmas (182-G/F-89) of Maccabi R.Hen - 20 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists
7. Christine Flores (190-F-90) of Galil Elion - 17 points and 12 rebounds
8. Jenna Smith (191-C-88) of Maccabi R.Hen - 16 points, 10 rebounds and 2 assists
9. Rebekah Gardner (185-G-90) of Hap.Petah Tikva - 13 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists
10. Whitney Boddie (173-G-87) of Elitzur Holon - 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

D1 Round 3: Ramat Hasharon loses to Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion - 3 days ago

There were just three rounds played in Regular Season of D1 and we can clearly see which teams will fight for top positions and which will try to avoid bottom places. Ramat Hasharon was defeated by Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion in a tough game in Hasharon 69-73. Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion forced 22 Ramat Hasharon turnovers.
