The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Ironi Nes-Ziona as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Ironi Nes-Ziona defeated 12th ranked Kiryat Tivon in Nes Ziyona 91-83. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 24-14. But Kiryat Tivon won second period 24-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Ironi Nes-Ziona made 29-of-36 free shots (80.6 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. 28 personal fouls committed by Kiryat Tivon helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for American swingman Bilal Benn (196-86, college: Niagara) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals. Naturalized Welsh forward Tal Michael Dunne (197-87) contributed with 21 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American forward Greg Murray (195-89, college: Point Loma) replied with 17 points and 9 rebounds for Kiryat Tivon. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Kiryat Tivon lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth place with 14 games lost. Kiryat Tivon will play next round against strong Hod Hasharon trying to get back on the winning streak. Ironi Nes-Ziona will try to continue on its current victory against fourth ranked Elitzur Yavne on the road.

Even a double-double of 24 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks by Ivory Clark did not help to save the game for Ironi Kiryat Ata. Elitzur Yavne maintains fourth position with 13-5 record. Loser Ironi Kiryat Ata keeps the sixth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Ironi Ramat Gan. Elitzur Yavne will meet at home league's leader Ironi Nes-Ziona in the next round and it may be the game of the week. The game between 9th ranked Hapoel Kfar Saba (6-12) and seventh ranked Ironi Ramat Gan (10-8) in Kfar Saba ended with biggest points difference. There were no big surprises in other games of round 18: Hapoel Kazrin was smashed by Elitzur Ramla on the road 92-73. Hod Hasharon destroyed Maccabi K/B on its own court 97-75. Macc.B.Yaakov managed to outperform Maccabi K/G in Beer Yaakov 92-79.

There was a small surprise when tenth ranked Elitzur Ramla (7-11) crushed at home 8th ranked Hapoel Kazrin (9-9) 92-73. The game was mostly controlled by Elitzur Ramla. Hapoel Kazrin was better in second period 19-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Elitzur Ramla dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Hapoel Kazrin's 38. They outrebounded Hapoel Kazrin 37-22 including a 30-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. American players dominated also this game.
