Vernon Teel
25-year old guard Vernon Teel (193-G-87, agency: FCM) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Elitzur Ramla and receives a Eurobasket.com National League Player of the Week award for round 18.
He had a double-double of 31 points and 11 rebounds, while his team crushed Hapoel Kazrin (#8, 9-9) with 19-point margin 92-73. Elitzur Ramla is placed at 9th position in Israeli National League. Elitzur Ramla is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 7-11 record. In the team's last game Teel had a remarkable 71.4% from 2-point range. He turned to be Elitzur Ramla's top player in his first season with the team. Loyola Marymount University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Teel is in league's top in points (2nd best: 23.1ppg), rebounds (7th best: 9.8rpg), assists (3rd best: 5.7apg) and averages solid 3.5spg and 53.1% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Ivory Clark (198-F-85) of Ironi K-A. He is American forward in his first season at Ironi K-A. In the last game Clark recorded impressive double-double of 24 points and 14 rebounds. Bad luck as Ironi K-A lost that game 78-83 to slightly higher-ranked Elitzur Yavne (#4, 13-5). Ironi K-A managed to keep the same 6th spot in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 10-8 record is not bad and everything may still change. Clark is a newcomer at Ironi K-A and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Allen Durham (198-F-88) of Hapoel Afula (#5). Durham scored 25 points and grabbed eleven rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Hapoel Afula, leading his team to a 84-83 win against the higher-ranked Ironi Nahariya (#2, 14-4). Hapoel Afula needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 12 victories and 6 lost games. Durham has a great season in Israel. After 18 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.4ppg (3rd best) and rebounds with 12.8rpg (3rd best). He also has 1.2bpg and FGP: 55.8%. Durham attended one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Johndre Jefferson (207-C/F-88) of Elitzur Ramla - 20 points and 14 rebounds
5. Monta McGhee (198-F-79) of Elitzur Yavne - 19 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists
6. Lenny Daniel (203-F-87) of Maccabi K/G - 21 points and 12 rebounds
7. Ramon Clemente (200-PF-85) of Ironi Nahariya - 19 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists
8. Keith Ramsey (205-C/F-87) of Ironi Ramat Gan - 20 points and 9 rebounds
9. Tal Michael Dunne (197-F-87) of Ironi Nes-Ziona - 21 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists
10. Anthony Fisher (191-G-86) of Hapoel Afula - 26 points, 3 rebounds and 6 assists

The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
