There were many interesting games last round. The round ended with favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

The most important game in the last round took place in Hod Hasharon between third ranked Hod Hasharon (15-5) and fifth ranked Elitzur Yavne (14-6) on Tuesday night. Hod Hasharon was defeated by Elitzur Yavne in a tough game at home 79-86. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Hod Hasharon. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 86-79. Elitzur Yavne dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Hod Hasharon's 30. Elitzur Yavne forced 19 Hod Hasharon turnovers. The best player for the winners was American swingman Brian Laing (195-85, college: Seton Hall, agency: I.D.S. Law) who scored 22 points and 5 rebounds. Swingman Elad Hofman (192-85) chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds. Nigerian power forward Chukwudinma Odiakosa (203-85, college: Illinois St., agency: N.E.T.) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds for the hosts. Elitzur Yavne maintains fifth position with 14-6 record. Hod Hasharon at the other side keeps the third place with five games lost. Elitzur Yavne are looking forward to face league's second-placed Ironi Nahariya at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Hod Hasharon will play against Hapoel Kazrin and is hoping to win this game.
Bottom-ranked Maccabi K/G managed to get a fourth victory, breaking the ten-game losing streak. This time newly promoted Maccabi K/G outleveled thirteenth-ranked Maccabi Kiryat Bialik in Kiryat Gat 74-48. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 26-point difference suggests that Maccabi K/G is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. American forward Lenny Daniel (203-87, college: CS Northridge) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 16 rebounds. Muhammad El Amin contributed with 22 points for the winners. Maccabi K/G's coach Roni Tzukerman felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Naturalized American Sean Labanowski (205-92) replied with 14 points and 6 rebounds for Maccabi Kiryat Bialik. Maccabi K/G (4-16) moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Kiryat Tivon. Maccabi Kiryat Bialik lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with 17 games lost. Maccabi K/G will play against Kiryat Tivon (#13) in Kiryat Tivon in the next round. Maccabi Kiryat Bialik will play at home against Ironi Ramat Gan and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Leader Ironi Nes-Ziona delivered the seventeenth victory on Tuesday night. This time they beat 7th ranked Hapoel Kazrin (10-10) 87-69 in Nes Ziyona. Worth to mention a quality performance of Tal Michael Dunne who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Mike James responded with 31 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Ironi Nes-Ziona have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 17-3 record. Newly promoted Hapoel Kazrin dropped to the eighth place with ten games lost. Ironi Nes-Ziona will meet Elitzur Ramla (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hapoel Kazrin will play against Hod Hasharon and hope to secure a win.
The game in Ramat Gan supposed to be also worth to mention about. 4th ranked Hapoel Afula (13-7) played at the court of sixth ranked Ironi Ramat Gan (12-8). Ironi Ramat Gan did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 85-65. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Hapoel Afula. The winners were led by Amit Tamir who had that evening a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Despite that victory Ironi Ramat Gan went down to seventh position due to points difference. Hapoel Afula at the other side keeps the fourth place with seven games lost. Ironi Ramat Gan's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Maccabi Kiryat Bialik (#14) on the road and are hoping to win another game. Hapoel Afula will play against Beer Yaakov (#11).
Important game to mention about took place in Kfar Saba. Tenth ranked Hapoel Kfar Saba (7-13) saved a 1-point victory at home edging 11th ranked Beer Yaakov (6-14) 86-85 in the fight for the tenth place. Even a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds by American forward Allen Durham (198-88, college: Grace Bible) did not help to save the game for Hapoel Afula. Forward Oz Blayzer (199-92) added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 6 blocks for the guests. Despite that victory Ironi Ramat Gan went down to seventh position due to points difference.
