There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in Winner League. The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with defeat of the leader, favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

The most surprising game was another loss of top-ranked Maccabi T-A (17-3) in Tel-Aviv on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by sixth ranked GreenTops Netanya (10-10) 76-70. GreenTops Netanya made 25-of-32 free shots (78.1 percent) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by Maccabi T-A helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American power forward Marco Killingsworth (203-82, college: Indiana, agency: Avi Zilberman) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 8 rebounds. The other American import swingman Deron Washington (201-85, college: Virginia Tech) contributed with 14 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. International point guard Yogev Ohayon (187-87) replied with 11 points, 6 assists and 5 steals for Maccabi T-A. Maccabi T-A's coach David Blatt rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. GreenTops Netanya maintains sixth position with 10-10 record. Defending champion Maccabi T-A still keeps top place with three games lost. GreenTops Netanya are looking forward to face Hapoel Tel-Aviv (#8) at home in the next round. Maccabi T-A will play against Maccabi Ashdod (#7) and is hoping to win this game.
Very important is a road loss of second ranked Hapoel Eilat (12-8) against eighth ranked Maccabi Ashdod (9-11) on Sunday night. Visiting Hapoel Eilat was defeated by Maccabi Ashdod in Ashdod 98-87. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Hapoel Eilat. American players dominated the game. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Diamon Simpson (201-87, college: St.Mary's, CA) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds and Mardy Collins who added 13 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists during the contest. Forward Jerome Tillman (198-87, college: Ohio, agency: KMG Sports Management) responded with 18 points and 8 rebounds. Hapoel Eilat's coach Oded Katash tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Maccabi Ashdod moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Hapoel T-A. Newly promoted Hapoel Eilat dropped to the third position with eight games lost. Maccabi Ashdod will play against league's leader Maccabi T-A in Tel-Aviv in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Hapoel Eilat will play on the road against Bnei Hasharon in Hod Hasharon and hopes to get back on the winning track.
An interesting game for Maccabi Haifa (13-7) which hosted in Haifa 4th ranked Hapoel Jerusalem (11-9). Third ranked Maccabi Haifa managed to get a 7-point victory 91-84. The winners were led by Pat Calathes who had that evening a double-double by scoring 26 points and 12 rebounds. Even 24 points and 8 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) by Josh Duncan did not help to save the game for Hapoel Jerusalem. Maccabi Haifa have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Hapoel Jerusalem at the other side keeps the fourth position with nine games lost. They share it with Maccabi Rishon. Maccabi Haifa will meet bottom-ranked Ironi Ashkelon (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hapoel Jerusalem will play against Galil Gilboa (#10) in Rosh Pina and hope to secure a win.
A very interesting game took place in Rosh Pina. Maccabi Rishon managed to secure only two-point victory 98-96. However their fans expected much easier game. Maccabi Haifa looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Hapoel Jerusalem's players. The winners were led by American-Greek swingman Pat Calathes (208-85, college: St.Joseph's) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 26 points and 12 rebounds and American Donta Smith (201-83, college: SE Illinois JC) supported him with 18 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals. Even 24 points and 8 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) by American Josh Duncan (203-86) did not help to save the game for Hapoel Jerusalem. The former international point guard Meir Tapiro (192-75, agency: Avi Zilberman) added 20 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the guests. Five Maccabi Haifa and four Hapoel Jerusalem players scored in double figures.
