The teams have now bigger motivation at this stage of Regular Season. Every game can be crucial and decide about teams' position at the end of Regular Season.

Maccabi Rishon - Maccabi Ashdod 80-58

Rather predictable result in Rishon Le-Zion where seventh ranked Maccabi Rishon (10-9) smashed 11th ranked Maccabi Ashdod (5-14) 80-58. It looked good early as Maccabi Ashdod took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Maccabi Rishon had a 21-8 second period charge getting the lead and Maccabi Ashdod was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 58-80. Maccabi Rishon players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Belarusian point guard Maalik Wayns (185-91, college: Villanova) who helped to win the game recording 15 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. The former international Elishay Kadir (202-87) contributed with 10 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Maccabi Rishon players scored in double figures. Maccabi Rishon's coach Arik Shivek felt very confident that he used 11 players saving starting five for next games. American Chase Simon (201-89, college: Detroit Mercy, agency: Three Eye Sports) answered with 21 points and the other American import center Jackie Carmichael (206-90, college: Illinois St.) added 13 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Maccabi Ashdod. Defending champion moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Hapoel T-A. Maccabi Ashdod lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with 14 games lost. Maccabi Rishon's next round opponent will be higher ranked Hapoel Jerusalem (#5) at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Maccabi Ashdod will play against Hapoel Eilat (#4) and hope to win that game.

An interesting game took place in Hod Hasharon where 4th placed Bnei Hasharon (11-7) was upset on its own court by tenth ranked Galil Gilboa (8-11) 79-73. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Bnei Hasharon. His fellow American import Jason Siggers (194-85, college: Albany) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Four Galil Gilboa players scored in double figures.
