Here is the weekly review of the top performing Israeli players, who play currently abroad.

Anton Kazarnovski
Anton Kazarnovski
#1. This week's number one is former University international power forward Anton Kazarnovski (206-85, currently plays in Germany). Kazarnovski led BG Karlsruhe to a victory over the leader Karlsruhe PS (14-6) 79-75 in a derby game in the German ProB (third division) last Saturday. He was MVP of the game. Kazarnovski scored 19 points, grabbed 7 boards, handed out 7 passes and blocked 2 shots. BG Karlsruhe (11-9) is placed sixth in South group. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It's Kazarnovski's first season with the team. He has individually a very good year with high stats. Kazarnovski averages: 15.4ppg, 7.2rpg, 2.1apg, 2FGP: 58.1%(68-117) and FT: 85.4%. He has a dual citizenship: Russian and Israeli. Former 1.1ppg - Hapoel Haifa/Ramat Hasharon starter played for the Israeli university national team ten years ago.

Egor Koulechov
Egor Koulechov
#2. Second place goes to an international swingman Egor Koulechov (196-94, currently plays college basketball in the States). Koulechov contributed to Rice's victory against the The Univ.of Texas - San Antonio (6-5) 80-68 in the NCAA on Thursday night. He scored 18 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 21 minutes. The Rice University has 7-5 conference record this season. There are only four games left until the end of the NCAA Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. Koulechov has very impressive stats this year: 18.4ppg, 8.7rpg, 2.0apg, 2FGP: 49.5%, 3FGP: 48.4%(61-126) and FT: 80.7% in 27 games he played so far. He is another player who holds two passports: Russian and Israeli. Ex-Wingate Academy Netanya player is in the roster of the Israeli senior national team.

Roman Sorkin
Roman Sorkin
#3. The Israeli player who performed third best last week abroad was former U20 international power forward Roman Sorkin (205-96, currently studies in the States). Sorkin managed to help University of Oregon in a victory against the University of Colorado (4-10) crushing them 101-73 in the NCAA last Saturday. He scored only 3 points in 8 minutes on the court. The University of Oregon has a very good 11-2 conference record this season. It was his team's 11th consecutive victory in a row. There are only two games left until the end of the NCAA Regular Season. So now every game will be important. This year Sorkin's overall stats are: 3.3ppg, 2.1rpg, 3FGP: 45.0% and FT: 93.8%(15-16) in 20 games. He played for the Israeli U20 national team two years ago.

Ido Flaisher
Ido Flaisher
#4. Center Ido Flaisher (206-98, is currently at the American university), who plays in the NCAA could not help the Hawaii (6-5) to beat the Univ. of California-Santa Barbara (7-4). Flaisher scored 5 points. The Hawaii was edged 56-54 at home by the Univ. of California-. There are only three games left until the end of the NCAA Regular Season. So now every game will be extremely important. Flaisher's total stats this season are: 3.6ppg and 2.9rpg. He is also Israeli U20 national team player.

Yuval Naimy
Yuval Naimy
#5. Former international point guard Yuval Naimy (188-85, currently plays in Italy) was not able to help Scafati in their game against FCM Ferentino (9-13) in the Italian Serie A2 (second division). Naimy recorded only 4 points and added 4 passes in 28 minutes. The 14th-placed Scafati (6-16) lost 77-87 on the road to the higher-ranked (#13) FCM Ferentino in the West group. Naimy has very impressive stats this year: 16.1ppg, 3.1rpg, 7.6apg and 1.2spg in 18 games. He used to play for the Israeli national team two years ago.

The list of other players, who all have Israeli passport but never been selected to any of Israeli national teams:

#1. TJ Leaf (208-F-97, currently plays college basketball in the States) led UCLA to an easy victory against the University of Southern California (4-10) crushing them 102-70 in a derby game in the NCAA in Saturday night's game. He scored 19 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and made 3 blocks in 30 minutes. The Univ.of Calif.at Los Angeles have a solid 9-3 conference record this season. It's Leaf's first year with the team. Leaf has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 16.5ppg, 8.5rpg, 2.6apg and 1.1bpg in 25 games he played so far. Leaf is a naturalized American. Despite his Israeli passport, Leaf previously played for the USA U19 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Israeli team. Strangely he has never played in Israel.

#2. Marios Matalon (186-G-89, college: Wyoming, currently plays in Greece) contributed to a 2-point Panionios' victory against the eighth-ranked Psychiko (9-9) 77-75 in a derby game in the Greek A2 (second division) in Saturday night's game. Matalon scored 7 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Panionios ON Telecoms Athens (17-1) is placed first in the A2. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. Matalon's overall stats this season are: 7.6ppg, 2.3rpg and 2.8apg. He has a dual citizenship: Israeli and Greek. Despite Matalon's Israeli passport, he previously played for the Greek U20 national team and probably cannot be called to the Israeli team.

#3. Alon Hemsani (201-F, currently plays in NAIA). Hemsani could not help the Culver Stockton College (0-20) to beat the Central Methodist University. He cannot count Wednesday's game as one of the best ones. Hemsani scored only 3 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. The Culver Stockton College was badly defeated 88-69 on the road by the Central Methodist University. So far Culver Stockton College lost all twenty games in the Regular Season. His team will play only one more game in the NAIA Regular Season. Hemsani's total stats this season are: 6.8ppg, 3.9rpg, 1.6apg and 1.1bpg.
