Here is the weekly review of the top performing Israeli players, who play currently abroad.

D'or Fischer
D'or Fischer
#1. This week's number one is an experienced former international center D'or Fischer (211-81, college: W.Virginia, currently plays in Latvia). He led Valmiera to a victory over the closely-ranked Barons Riga (16-15) crushing them 88-58 in the Latvian LBL in Sunday night's game. Fischer was MVP of the game. He had a double-double by scoring 25 points and getting 15 rebounds. Fischer also added 4 blocks in 31 minutes on the court. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Valmiera/ORDO (21-11) is placed second in the LBL. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Fischer has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 15.2ppg, 8.8rpg, 1.2apg, 2.4bpg, 1.2spg, 2FGP: 78.1%(25-32) and FT: 81.3% in five games he played so far. Fischer is a naturalized American. He played for the Israeli senior national team two years ago. Fischer used to play for Maccabi Electra Tel-Aviv in Israeli league.

Alex Tyus
Alex Tyus
#2. Second place goes to former international center Alex Tyus (203-88, college: Florida, currently plays in Turkey). He contributed to a 3-point Galatasaray's victory against the 11th-ranked Yesilgiresun Bld (9-17) 89-86 in the Turkish BSL last Saturday. Tyus scored 9 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and made 2 blocks. Galatasaray Odeabank Istanbul (20-6) is placed third in the BSL. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. It's Tyus' first season with the team. His overall stats this year are: 6.5ppg, 3.7rpg, 2FGP: 57.7%(75-130). Tyus is a naturalized American. He played for the Israeli national team in 2013. Tyus used to play for Maccabi Ashdod in Israeli league.

Omri Casspi
Omri Casspi
#3. The Israeli player who performed third best last week abroad was former international small forward Omri Casspi (206-88, currently plays in NBA). Casspi could not help the Minnesota Timberwolves (31-51) to beat the Houston Rockets (55-27). He scored only 4 points. The Minnesota Timberwolves (31-51) were defeated 123-118 on the road by the Rockets. It was Timberwolves' sixth consecutive loss in a row. The Regular Season already ended in the NBA. Casspi's overall stats this season are: 3.5ppg, 1.5rpg, 2FGP: 58.6%(17-29) and FT: 62.5%. He played for the Israeli national team two years ago.

Yuval Naimy
Yuval Naimy
#4. Point guard Yuval Naimy (188-85, currently plays in Italy) was the major contributor in Scafati's victory against the 15th-ranked Viola RC (9-20) 73-71 in the Italian Serie A2 (second division) last Saturday. Naimy scored 15 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 40 minutes. Givova Scafati Basket (10-19) is placed 14th in West group. His team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And now that game is quite important. Naimy has very impressive stats this year: 15.4ppg, 3.1rpg and 7.3apg in 23 games. He used to play for the Israeli national team back in 2015.

One more player who has never been selected to any of national teams, but has Israeli passport:

#1. Marios Matalon (186-G-89, college: Wyoming, currently plays in Greece) could not help Panionios (23-4) in their last game. Despite his good performance Panionios lost 64-76 on the road to the lower-ranked (#7) Holargos. Matalon was the top scorer with 13 points. He also added 4 assists in 23 minutes. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. This year Matalon's overall stats are: 7.2ppg, 2.3rpg and 2.8apg in 27 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Israeli and Greek. Despite Matalon's Israeli passport, he previously played for the Greek U20 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Israeli team.

Other top Israeli players, who play abroad:

Anton Shoutvin (206-C-89) plays for Iskra Svit in Slovakian SBL
Anton Kazarnovski (206-F/C-85) plays for BG Karlsruhe in German ProB
Guy Aud (186-G-89) plays for USC Leipzig in German ProB
Benji Tamir (192-G/F-91) plays for McKinnon Cougars in Australian State League
