Italian teams continued their preparations for the upcoming season with a series of friendly games.
Benetton Treviso shot down Carife 94:88. The Treviso outfit grabbed a 10-point lead after ten minutes of action 31:21. They maintained the lead well enough to enjoy an 11-point advantage at halftime. Carife however rebounded in the third frame and started to claw their way back into this one. They cut the margin to just 4 points with ten minutes to go. Carife drew things level at 88 late in the game but Benetton capped the game with six points in a row to escape with a hard-fought win. Donatas Motiejunas (213-C-90, agency: Interperformances) fired 21 points to pace Benetton. Judson Wallace (205-F/C-82, agency: Elfus-Siegel Management (ESM), college: Princeton) and Gary Neal (193-G-84, college: Towson) added 20 points each in the victory. Anthony Grundy (189-G-79, agency: Strategic Sports, college: N.Carolina St.) answered with 28 points for Carife. Yohann Sangare (193-G-83, agency: Priority Sports) had 18 points in the loss.
Air Avellino lost to Efes Pilsen 80:85 in overtime. The Turkish team led by two points at halftime but Air Avellino forced overtime tying things up at 74 at the end of regulation. But the Turkish side prevailed at the end. Preston Shumpert (198-G-79, college: Syracuse) fired 22 points to pace the charge. DeMarcus Nelson (193-G-85, agency: ZAG Advocates, college: Duke) answered with 15 points in his debut for Air Avellino.
