Evelien Callens (188-F/C-84) is back to Italy. The Belgian power forward/center penned a deal with Pallacanestro Pozzuoli. Callens already made debut with her new club scoring 10 points against Bracco Geas. Pozzuoli won that game at home 80-75. Evelien Callens spent last season with Vomero. She had 7.3 ppg and 2.8 rpg for 21 games in SerieA. From 2008 to 2010, she was a member of Umbertide. In their first season together Callens shined with 13.7 ppg, 4.3 rpg and 2.7 spg. In the past, she played for TermoCarispe La Spezia. In Belgium, Evelien Callens was a member of Dexia Namur.

Emily played basketball at the College of Wiliam & Mary where, on her senior year, she started all 30 games for the Tribe, leading the Green and Gold with 16.2 ppg and 7.9 rebounds per game.

She is a solid athlete and has developed a solid face-up jumpshot out to 17-22 feet which has really helped expand her game and is quite affective coming off of screens ; runs the floor extremely well and can get to the basket with her surprising ball handling and body control for a player her size. She is a good area defensive rebounder and will block shots coming at her or chasing them in his area.
