Emporio Armani advanced into the semifinal stage posting the third straight win over Umana Venezia. The guests trailed by 7 points after three quarters before their 27-18 charge, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was American guard Malik Hairston (198-87, college: Oregon) who scored 20 points. American-Montenegrin point guard Omar-Sharif Cook (186-82, college: St.John's, agency: Beo Basket) chipped in 12 points and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American-Bulgarian point guard Kee Kee Clark (180-84, college: St.Peter's) who recorded 20 points and 6 assists and the former international guard Guido Rosselli (198-83) added 13 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals respectively. Four Umana Venezia players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game.

Banco di Sardegna stole a narrow road win over CS Bologna to clinch the next round birth. CS Bologna was ahead by 1 point after three quarters before a 18-16 charge of Banco di Sard., which allowed them to win the game. It was an exceptional evening for American-Georgian swingman Quinton Hosley (201-84, college: Fresno St.) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds. American point guard Travis Diener (184-82, college: Marquette) accounted for 16 points for the winning side. Finnish guard Petteri Koponen (194-88) came up with 21 points and the former international power forward Angelo Gigli (209-83) added 14 points and 13 rebounds respectively for CS Bologna in the defeat. Scavolini Pesaro held off Bennet Cantu to cut the deficit in the series. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Scavolini Pesaro's pressure prevailed and they won that period 21-13 extending their advantage to 13 points. They shot 62.0 percent from the field and made 19-of-20 charity shots (95.0 percent) during the game. Scavolini Pesaro outrebounded Bennet Cantu 28-15 including 23 on the defensive glass. Afyonkarahisar Belediye (TBL) inked 29-year old American power forward Johndre Jefferson (207-102kg-88, college: S.Carolina, agency: Three Eye Sports). He played recently at Dolomiti Energia Trento in Italian Serie A, but left the team last month. In 11 games he averaged 10.5ppg and 7.2rpg this season. The last season Jefferson played at Konyaspor (BSL) where in 26 games he had 10.2ppg, 6.2rpg and 1.5apg. Banco di Sardegna Sassari (Serie A) signed 29-year old American swingman David Lighty (195-98kg-88, college: Ohio State) from Dolomiti Energia Trento. In 15 Serie A games in Italy he had 13.1ppg, 2.4rpg, 2.4apg and 1.5spg this season. The last season Lighty played at ASVEL Lyon Villeurbanne Basket in French ProA where in 45 games he recorded 8.7ppg, 2.3rpg and 2.3apg.
