Umana Venezia - Armani Mit 80-82

Emporio Armani advanced into the semifinal stage posting the third straight win over Umana Venezia. The guests trailed by 7 points after three quarters before their 27-18 charge, which allowed them to win the game. The best player for the winners was American guard Malik Hairston (198-87, college: Oregon) who scored 20 points. American-Montenegrin point guard Omar-Sharif Cook (186-82, college: St.John's, agency: Beo Basket) chipped in 12 points and 6 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American-Bulgarian point guard Kee Kee Clark (180-84, college: St.Peter's) who recorded 20 points and 6 assists and the former international guard Guido Rosselli (198-83) added 13 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals respectively. Four Umana Venezia players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game.

Banco di Sardegna stole a narrow road win over CS Bologna to clinch the next round birth. CS Bologna was ahead by 1 point after three quarters before a 18-16 charge of Banco di Sard., which allowed them to win the game. It was an exceptional evening for American-Georgian swingman Quinton Hosley (201-84, college: Fresno St.) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds. American point guard Travis Diener (184-82, college: Marquette) accounted for 16 points for the winning side. Finnish guard Petteri Koponen (194-88) came up with 21 points and the former international power forward Angelo Gigli (209-83) added 14 points and 13 rebounds respectively for CS Bologna in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game.

Scavolini PS - Bennet Cantu 91-78

Scavolini Pesaro held off Bennet Cantu to cut the deficit in the series. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Scavolini Pesaro's pressure prevailed and they won that period 21-13 extending their advantage to 13 points. They shot 62.0 percent from the field and made 19-of-20 charity shots (95.0 percent) during the game. Scavolini Pesaro outrebounded Bennet Cantu 28-15 including 23 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Scavolini Pesaro especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 62.5 percentage. 25 personal fouls committed by Bennet Cantu helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for American guard James White (199-84, college: Cincinnati, agency: Court Side) who led his team to a victory with 21 points and 7 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Jumaine Jones (203-79, college: Georgia) contributed with 22 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. American-Swiss power forward Greg Brunner (201-83, college: Iowa) answered with 18 points and 8 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field) and naturalized Uruguayan point guard Nicolas Mazzarino (181-75, agency: Players Group) added 14 points in the effort for Bennet Cantu.
