There was no lack of interesting games this round. The round ended with defeat of the leader and favorites losing the games.

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Treviglio (7-1) on the court of third ranked Matera on Monday night. Visitors were defeated by Matera 82-66. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Treviglio. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. The game without a history. Matera led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Matera especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. Naturalized Argentinian guard Carlos Sebastian Vico (190-86, agency: Players Group) stepped up and scored 28 points (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) for the winners and the former international power forward Massimo Rezzano (203-82) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. The best for the losing side was power forward Riccardo Malagoli (209-88) with 15 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Matera (7-2) moved-up to second place, which they share with Torino. Treviglio at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. Matera is looking forward to face Latina Basket (#15) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Treviglio will play against Torino (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in Bari supposed to be also worth to mention about. 4th placed Lucca (5-3) played at the court of eighth ranked Bari (5-3). Bari did not have too big problems ending evening with a very confident victory 65-47. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Lucca. Swingman Daniele Bonessio (200-88) nailed a double-double by scoring 15 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side and Domenico Barozzi accounted for 10 points and 8 rebounds. The former international forward Walter Santarossa (200-78) came up with 10 points and 5 rebounds for Lucca in the defeat. Bari moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Firenze and Lucca. Bari will play against Omegna (#12) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Lucca will play against Casalpusterlengo (#13) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
A very close game took place in Casalpusterlengo between Agrigento and Casalpusterlengo. Seventh ranked Agrigento (6-3) got a very close victory on the road over 12th ranked Casalpusterlengo (3-5). Agrigento managed to escape with a 2-point win 78-76 on Sunday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The best player for the winners was Fabio Mian who scored 23 points. Agrigento's coach Franco Ciani used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was Alberto Chiumenti who recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. Agrigento moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Castelletto. Casalpusterlengo lost third consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with five games lost. They share it with Ferrara and Omegna. Agrigento will meet at home Mazzeo San Severo (#16) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Casalpusterlengo will play against Lucca (#8) and hope to secure a win.
An interesting game took place in Ozzano Emilia where higher ranked Bologna (5-4) was upset on its own court by sixteenth ranked Latina Basket (3-6) 80-75. It was a good game for Marko Micevic who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. Latina Basket moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with San Severo. Bologna at the other side dropped to the ninth position with four games lost. Latina Basket's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Matera at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
An interesting game took place in Perugia where higher ranked Chieti (4-5) was upset on the court of eighteenth ranked Perugia (2-7) 70-65 on Sunday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Chieti. Davide Poltroneri stepped up and scored 28 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Perugia moved-up to seventeenth place, which they share with Mirandola. Loser Chieti dropped to the eleventh position with five games lost. Perugia will face Reggio Calabr. (#19) in Reggio Calabria in the next round.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 9: Castelletto won against San Severo on the opponent's court 78-70. Torino outscored Omegna in a home game 90-70. Recanati managed to beat Ferrara on the road 70-63. Firenze defeated Mirandola on its own court 85-72.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 16 points and 17 rebounds by Simone Bonamente of Perugia.
