The most exciting game of round 10 in the Nazionale A took place in Treviglio. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of their biggest opponent Treviglio (7-2) to third ranked Torino (8-2) 67-64 on Sunday evening. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Naturalized Polish power forward Jakub Wojciechowski (210-90) had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Claudio Tommasini (190-91) chipped in 11 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side the former international guard Davide Reati (193-88) responded with 25 points and 7 rebounds. Torino have an impressive six-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Matera. Treviglio at the other side dropped to the third place with two games lost. Torino is looking forward to face Chieti (#10) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Treviglio will play against Casalpusterlengo (#13) and is hoping to win this game.
An interesting game took place in Omegna where higher ranked Bari (5-4) was upset on the court of twelfth ranked Omegna (4-5) 66-61. Guard Giacomo Mariani (191-86) notched 5 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and Mohamed Toure supported him with 14 points. Even 17 points and 5 rebounds by the former international power forward Luca Bisconti (206-82) did not help to save the game for Bari. Omegna moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Recanati and Chieti. Bari at the other side dropped to the ninth position with four games lost. Omegna will play against Naturhouse Ferrara (#14) on the road in the next round. Bari will play against Mirandola (#18) and hopes to get back on the winning track.

Vincenzo Di Viccaro fired 19 points and 4 steals for the winners. Andrea Iannilli produced 20 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Agrigento have a solid three-game winning streak. Newly promoted Agrigento maintains fourth position with 7-3 record, which they share with Castelletto. Mazzeo San Severo lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifteenth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Perugia and Latina Basket. Agrigento will meet league's leader Matera on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Mazzeo San Severo will play against Latina Basket (#16) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 10: Matera won against Latina Basket on the opponent's court 62-55. Mirandola unfortunately lost to Bologna in a home game 76-81. Firenze managed to beat Recanati on the road 76-72. Castelletto defeated Ferrara on its own court 76-70. Perugia beat Reggio Calabr. in a road game 75-68. Lucca won against Casalpusterlengo at home 80-74.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 25 points and 14 rebounds by Riccardo Santolamazza of Latina Basket.

Mazzeo San Severo managed to win second period 20-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Guard Vincenzo Di Viccaro (191-84) fired 19 points and 4 steals for the winners. The former international forward Michele Giovanatto (202-81) chipped in 12 points and 5 rebounds. Very expected game when 15th ranked Latina Basket (3-7) was defeated at home by second ranked Matera (8-2) 62-55 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 35-26 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Matera dominated on the defensive end, holding Latina Basket to just 6 points in first quarter. Point guard Carlo Cantone (187-85) fired 17 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from downtown making all five shots) for the winners. Swingman Andrea Vitale (199-82, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 13 points. Very predictable result when ninth ranked Bologna (6-4) defeated on the road 17th ranked Mirandola (2-8) 81-76 on Sunday. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Bologna forced 20 Mirandola turnovers. Point guard Alessandro Piazza (174-87) fired 22 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Guard Valerio Circosta (188-87, agency: Two Points) chipped in 20 points. Forward Luca Pignatti (195-86) produced 17 points and 6 assists and guard Michele Venturelli (188-82) added 12 points, 6 assists and 6 steals respectively for lost side. Four Mirandola players scored in double figures. Mirandola's coach Antonio Tinti rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Bologna moved-up to eighth place. Not a big story in a game when 10th ranked Recanati (4-5) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Firenze (6-3) 76-72 on Sunday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 27-14. But Recanati won second period 25-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Firenze made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. Firenze outrebounded Recanati 33-18 including 24 on the defensive glass. Swingman Daniele Casadei (199-81) fired 25 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!) for the winners. Center Andrea Capitanelli (203-86) chipped in 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Firenze players scored in double figures. Guard Gianni Cantagalli (196-88, agency: Players Group) produced 15 points and forward Attilio Pierini (201-81) added 18 points respectively for lost side. Firenze have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position with 6-3 record, which they share with Lucca. Loser Recanati keeps the tenth place with five games lost. They share the position with Chieti and Omegna. Firenze will meet at home Reggio Calabr. (#19) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Recanati will play against Lucca (#7) and hope to secure a win.

Everything went according to plan when fifth ranked Castelletto (7-3) beat at home 14th ranked Naturhouse Ferrara (3-6) 76-70 on Sunday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Naturhouse Ferrara was trailing by 2 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 25-18 charge of Castelletto, which allowed them to win the game. They made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Forward Alex Ranuzzi (195-86, agency: Interperformances) fired 21 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Forward Francesco Ihedioha (196-86) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds. Four Castelletto players scored in double figures. Power forward Michele Benfatto (205-85) produced 19 points and 8 rebounds and forward Simone Cortesi (196-86) added 6 points and 12 rebounds respectively for lost side. Castelletto have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Agrigento. Naturhouse Ferrara lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the thirteenth position with six games lost. They share it with Casalpusterlengo. Castelletto will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Naturhouse Ferrara will play against Omegna (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

An interesting game took place in Omegna where higher ranked Bari (5-4) was upset on the court of twelfth ranked Omegna (4-5) 66-61. It looked good early as Bari took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Omegna had a 16-13 second period charge getting the lead and Bari was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 61-66. Guard Giacomo Mariani (191-86) notched 5 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and naturalized Ivorian guard Mohamed Toure (190-92) supported him with 14 points. Even 17 points and 5 rebounds by the former international power forward Luca Bisconti (206-82) did not help to save the game for Bari. Swingman Daniele Bonessio (200-88) added 11 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. Omegna moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Recanati and Chieti. Bari at the other side dropped to the ninth position with four games lost. Omegna will play against Naturhouse Ferrara (#14) on the road in the next round. Bari will play against Mirandola (#18) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
