The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Matera as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Matera defeated 6th ranked Agrigento at home 57-48. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Agrigento. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 19-9. But Agrigento won second period 11-10. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. 28 personal fouls committed by Agrigento helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was power forward Antonio Iannuzzi (207-91, agency: Two Points) who scored 8 points and 9 rebounds. Naturalized Argentinian guard Carlos Sebastian Vico (190-86, agency: Players Group) chipped in 11 points and 5 rebounds. Power forward Andrea Quarisa (202-92) produced 10 points and 7 rebounds for the guests. Agrigento's coach Franco Ciani rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Matera have a solid series of three victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Torino. Newly promoted Agrigento dropped to the seventh place with four games lost. Agrigento will play next round against Omegna trying to get back on the winning streak. Matera will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked Firenze at home.
Very important is a road loss of third ranked Treviglio (7-3) against thirteenth ranked Casalpusterlengo (4-6) on Wednesday night. Visiting Treviglio was crushed by Casalpusterlengo in Casalpusterlengo 83-53. Power forward Alberto Chiumenti (204-87, agency: Players Group) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds. Tommaso Marino contributed with 20 points, 7 assists and 5 steals for the winners. The former international guard Davide Reati (193-88) answered with 16 points for Treviglio. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Casalpusterlengo moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Treviglio lost third consecutive game. They keep the third position with three games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Casalpusterlengo will play against Mirandola (#17) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Treviglio will play against Castelletto (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
We should mention about the upset which took place in Bari, where higher ranked Bari (5-5) lost at home to seventeenth ranked Mirandola (3-8) 65-71 on Wednesday. It was a great evening for Alessandro Mancin who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds (perfect from the field making all nine shots !!!). Mirandola's coach Antonio Tinti used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Luca Bisconti responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 15 rebounds. Mirandola moved-up to sixteenth place, which they share with Latina Basket. Bari at the other side keeps the eighth position with five games lost. Mirandola will meet at home higher ranked Casalpusterlengo (#10) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Bari will play against Reggio Calabr. in Reggio Calabria and hope to secure a win.

Other games of round 11 were very predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Latina Basket was defeated by San Severo in a road game 70-54. Torino beat Chieti at home 77-61. Lucca won against Recanati on the opponent's court 77-71. Ferrara managed to outperform Omegna in a home game 74-62. Reggio Calabr. was rolled over Firenze on the road 88-65.
The best stats of 11th round was 21 points and 8 rebounds by Jakub Wojciechowski of Torino.
