25-year old point guard Alessandro Piazza (174-PG-87) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Reggio Calabr. and receives a Eurobasket.com Nazionale A Player of the Week award for round 13. He got a double-double of 28 points and 10 assists, while his team beat Casalpusterlengo (#10, 5-7) 77-65. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on the top of the standings. Reggio Calabr. is placed at 17th position in Italian Nazionale A. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 9 games and recorded just three victories. In the team's last game Piazza had a remarkable 58.3% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 6 attempts. He turned to be Reggio Calabr.'s top player in his first season with the team. Piazza has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in assists (2nd best: 10.0apg) and averages solid 5.0spg,58.3% FGP and 66.7% from behind 3-point line.
Second best performed player last round was Marko Micevic (198-F-89) of Latina Basket. He is naturalized Serbian forward in his 2nd season at Latina Basket. In the last game Micevic recorded impressive double-double of 22 points and 10 rebounds. Of course he lead Latina Basket to another comfortable win 83-66 over the lower-ranked Ferrara (4-8) being unquestionably team leader. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. But Latina Basket managed to improve slightly their position in standings taking 13th place. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 4-8 record. Micevic is well-known at Latina Basket and he already established his position as one of the team's leaders.
Third place about best performers goes to guard Federico Bolzonella (184-PG-84) of Castelletto (#3). Bolzonella scored 25 points and grabbed eight rebounds. He was a key player of Castelletto, leading his team to a 71-65 win against the lower-ranked Lucca (#6, 7-4). Castelletto needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 9 victories and 3 lost games. Bolzonella has a very solid season. In 12 games in Italy he scored 15.9ppg. He also has 4.3rpg, FGP: 52.9% and 3PT: 44.8%.
Other top performing players last week: 4. Michele Benfatto (205-F/C-85) of Ferrara - 21 points and 11 rebounds 5. Simone Ferrarese (182-PG-87) of Treviglio - 20 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists 6. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
