Here is the weekly review of the top performing Italian players, who play currently abroad.

Marco Belinelli
Marco Belinelli
#1. This week's number one is an international guard Marco Belinelli (196-86, currently plays in NBA). He led Chicago Bulls to a victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers (4-15) 95-85 in the NBA in Wednesday night's game. Belinelli was MVP of the game. He scored 23 points in 40 minutes on the court. The Chicago Bulls have 9-8 record this season. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. It's Belinelli's first year with the team. This season Belinelli averages: 6.2ppg, 1.2rpg, 2FGP: 41.5%, 3FGP: 36.1% and FT: 83.9% in the 16 games he played so far. He played for the Italian senior national team one years ago.

Danilo Gallinari
Danilo Gallinari
#2. Second place goes to an international small forward Danilo Gallinari (205-88, agency: Players Group, currently plays in NBA), who plays in the NBA. Gallinari could not help the Denver Nuggets (9-10) in their last game on Thursday. Despite his very good performance the Denver Nuggets were edged 106-105 on the road by the Golden State Warriors. Gallinari was the second best scorer with 20 points. He also added 9 rebounds. But the season just started, so everything may happen. Gallinari has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 15.6ppg, 6.1rpg, 2.5apg, 2FGP: 44.5%, 3FGP: 28.4% and FT: 81.2%. Gallinari is in the roster of the Italian senior national team.

Andrea Bargnani
Andrea Bargnani
#3. The Italian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international power forward Andrea Bargnani (209-85, currently plays in NBA), who plays in the NBA. He was not able to help the Toronto Raptors (4-15) in their last game. Despite Bargnani's very good performance the Toronto Raptors were edged 113-110 in Denver by the Nuggets. He was the second best scorer with 23 points. Bargnani also added 4 rebounds in 40 minutes. But the season is still in it's first stage and everything can happen. Bargnani is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his seventh year in Raptors' roster. He has very impressive stats this season: 16.8ppg, 4.4rpg, 1.4apg, 2FGP: 42.6%, 3FGP: 32.1% and FT: 83.3% in the 18 games. Bargnani played for the Italian national team one years ago.

Christian DiGiuliomaria
Christian DiGiuliomaria
#4. Power forward Christian DiGiuliomaria (209-79, currently plays in Switzerland) managed to help Lugano Tigers in a victory in overtime against the league outsider Starwings (1-8) 89-79 in the Swiss LNA on Sunday night. DiGiuliomaria scored only 3 points and added 3 assists in 17 minutes. Lugano Tigers (5-4) are placed fifth in the LNA. DiGiuliomaria has relatively good stats this year: 11.5ppg, 3.0rpg, 2.0apg and 1.5spg in the two games. He used to play for the Italian national team back in 2008.

Amedeo Della Valle
Amedeo Della Valle
#5. Former U18 international guard Amedeo Della Valle (196-93, currently plays college basketball in the States) contributed to an easy victory against the Northern Kentucky University crushing them 70-43 in the NCAA in Saturday night's game. Della Valle scored only 3 points. The Ohio State University has conference record this season. This year Della Valle has relatively solid stats: 11.5ppg, 3.0rpg, 2.0apg and 1.5spg. He used to play for the Italian U18 national team two years ago.

The list of other players, who all have Italian passport but never been selected to any of Italian national teams:

#1. Guilherme Giovannoni (202-F-80, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in Liga SudAmericana) led his Brazilian team Brasilia to a victory over the leader Flamengo (1-1) 85-74 in the Liga Sudamericana in Wednesday night's game. He was the best player in that game. Giovannoni scored 18 points and added 5 passes (went 6 for 6 at the free throw line). Uniceub/BRB/Brasilia (1-1) is placed third in group G. Giovannoni has been at the team for four years. He is ranked eighth on the list of the top scorers in the league and also on the list of best passers (seventh place). Giovannoni has very reliable stats this season: 12.0ppg, 3.5rpg and 2.5apg. He has a dual citizenship: Italian and Brazilian.

#2. Marcelinho Huertas (191-PG-83, agency: Edge Sports, currently plays in Euroleague) contributed to an easy victory against the third-ranked Besiktas (4-5) crushing them 78-48 in the Euroleague last Friday. Huertas scored 7 points and added 3 passes in 15 minutes. Regal FC Barcelona (8-0) is placed first in group D. So far his team won all eight games in the Regular Season.
