#1. This week's number one is an international guard Marco Belinelli (196-86, currently plays in NBA). He led Chicago Bulls to a victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers (4-15) 95-85 in the NBA in Wednesday night's game.
Belinelli was MVP of the game. He scored 23 points in 40 minutes on the court.
The Chicago Bulls have 9-8 record this season.
But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen.
It's Belinelli's first year with the team.
This season Belinelli averages: 6.2ppg, 1.2rpg, 2FGP: 41.5%, 3FGP: 36.1% and FT: 83.9% in the 16 games he played so far.
He played for the Italian senior national team one years ago.
#2. Second place goes to an international small forward Danilo Gallinari (205-88, agency: Players Group, currently plays in NBA), who plays in the NBA. Gallinari could not help the Denver Nuggets (9-10) in their last game on Thursday. Despite his very good performance the Denver Nuggets were edged 106-105 on the road by the Golden State Warriors.
Gallinari was the second best scorer with 20 points. He also added 9 rebounds.
But the season just started, so everything may happen.
Gallinari has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 15.6ppg, 6.1rpg, 2.5apg, 2FGP: 44.5%, 3FGP: 28.4% and FT: 81.2%.
Gallinari is in the roster of the Italian senior national team.
#3. The Italian player who performed third best last week abroad was an international power forward Andrea Bargnani (209-85, currently plays in NBA), who plays in the NBA. He was not able to help the Toronto Raptors (4-15) in their last game. Despite Bargnani's very good performance the Toronto Raptors were edged 113-110 in Denver by the Nuggets.
He was the second best scorer with 23 points. Bargnani also added 4 rebounds in 40 minutes.
But the season is still in it's first stage and everything can happen.
Bargnani is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his seventh year in Raptors' roster.
He has very impressive stats this season: 16.8ppg, 4.4rpg, 1.4apg, 2FGP: 42.6%, 3FGP: 32.1% and FT: 83.3% in the 18 games.
Bargnani played for the Italian national team one years ago.
#4. Power forward Christian DiGiuliomaria (209-79, currently plays in Switzerland) managed to help Lugano Tigers in a victory in overtime against the league outsider Starwings (1-8) 89-79 in the Swiss LNA on Sunday night.
DiGiuliomaria scored only 3 points and added 3 assists in 17 minutes.
Lugano Tigers (5-4) are placed fifth in the LNA.
DiGiuliomaria has relatively good stats this year: 11.5ppg, 3.0rpg, 2.0apg and 1.5spg in the two games.
He used to play for the Italian national team
back in 2008.
#5. Former U18 international guard Amedeo Della Valle (196-93, currently plays college basketball in the States) contributed to an easy victory against the Northern Kentucky University crushing them 70-43 in the NCAA in Saturday night's game.
Della Valle scored only 3 points.
The Ohio State University has conference record this season.
This year Della Valle has relatively solid stats: 11.5ppg, 3.0rpg, 2.0apg and 1.5spg.
He used to play for the Italian U18 national team
two years ago.

#1.Guilherme Giovannoni (202-F-80, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in Liga SudAmericana) led his Brazilian team Brasilia to a victory over the leader Flamengo (1-1) 85-74 in the Liga Sudamericana in Wednesday night's game.
He was the best player in that game. Giovannoni scored 18 points and added 5 passes (went 6 for 6 at the free throw line).
Uniceub/BRB/Brasilia (1-1) is placed third in group G.
Giovannoni has been at the team for four years.
He is ranked eighth on the list of the top scorers in the league and also on the list of best passers (seventh place).
Giovannoni has very reliable stats this season: 12.0ppg, 3.5rpg and 2.5apg.
He has a dual citizenship: Italian and Brazilian.
#2.Marcelinho Huertas (191-PG-83, agency: Edge Sports, currently plays in Euroleague) contributed to an easy victory against the third-ranked Besiktas (4-5) crushing them 78-48 in the Euroleague last Friday.
Huertas scored 7 points and added 3 passes in 15 minutes.
Regal FC Barcelona (8-0) is placed first in group D.
So far his team won all eight games in the Regular Season.
There are only two games left until the end of the Euroleague Regular Season. So now every game will be critical.
This year Huertas' overall stats are: 9.6ppg, 2.1rpg and 3.1apg in the eight games he played so far.
He is another player who holds two passports: Brazilian and Italian.
#3.Luis Felipe Gruber (205-F-85, currently plays in Brazil) was the main contributor in Uberlandia's victory against the closely-ranked Bauru (2-2) 82-81 in the Brazilian NBB on Thursday night.
Gruber was the best player in that game. He scored 26 points (!!!), had 7 rebounds and made 2 blocks.
Unitri/Universo Uberlandia (2-1) is placed fourth in the NBB.
But there are still lots of games to play and it's a long way to go.
Gruber is currently third on the list of top scorers.
He has individually a very good season with high stats. Gruber averages: 18.3ppg, 5.7rpg, 2.7apg and 1.3bpg.
Similarly like Huertas and Giovannoni above he has both Italian and Brazilian nationalities.
#4.Daniel Werner (203-F-87, college: Florida, currently plays in Ukraine) contributed to Ferro-ZNTU's victory against one of league's weakest teams BC Kyiv (4-13) 83-72 in the Ukrainian Superleague in Sunday night's game.
Werner had a double-double by scoring 16 points and getting 10 rebounds in a mere 16 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his third season in pro basketball. Ferro-ZNTU Zaporozhye (13-4) is placed first in the Superleague.
It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row.
Werner has relatively good stats this year: 11.4ppg, 5.4rpg and 1.8apg in the 17 games.
He is a naturalized American.
Werner used to play for Canadian Solar Bologna in Italian league.
#5.Jayson Granger (186-G-89, currently plays in Spain) contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Blusens Monbus (5-5) crushing them 89-66 in the Spanish ACB last Saturday.
Granger recorded 10 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists.
Asefa Estudiantes Madrid (6-4) is placed eighth in the ACB.
Granger has been at the team for seven years.
He has relatively good stats this season: 12.5ppg, 2.2rpg and 3.6apg.
Granger also holds two passports: Uruguayan and Italian.
Worth to mention he played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball.
#6.Leandro Garcia Morales (186-G-80, college: Texas A&M, currently plays in Uruguay), who plays in the Uruguayan LUB could not help Aguada in their last game. Despite his very good performance the first-placed Aguada lost 63-74 on the road to the lower-ranked (#4) Trouville in the Capital group.
Garcia Morales was the top scorer with 28 points. He also added 4 boards, passed 6 assists and added 3 steals (was perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line) in 38 minutes.
Garcia Morales has very impressive stats this year: 27.5ppg, 4.0rpg, 5.3apg and 1.8spg in the 17 games.
He has Italian and Uruguayan nationalities.
#7. Experienced Nestoras Kommatos (203-F-77, currently plays in Greece), who plays in the Greek A1 was not able to help one of league's weakest teams AGOR (5-3) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Kommatos' good performance AGOR was defeated in an overtime 91-85 in Thessaloniki by the higher-ranked PAOK (#4).
He scored 12 points and grabbed 6 rebounds.
Kommatos' overall stats this season are: 6.5ppg and 4.1rpg.
#8.Samuel Cricelli (200-F-85, college: Caldwell, currently plays in United Kingdom) was the major contributor in a Surrey Heat's victory against one of league's weakest teams Manchester Giants 83-71 in the British BBL last Saturday.
He recorded 19 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 34 minutes.
Cricelli has relatively good stats this year: 13.2ppg, 7.8rpg, 2.2apg and 1.4spg in the 10 games.
He holds both Italian and British passports.
#9.Adrian Bertolini (191-G-78, currently plays in Uruguay) contributed to Cordon's surprising victory against the second-ranked Malvin 88-84 in a derby game in the Uruguayan LUB on Saturday night.
Bertolini was the best player in that game. He scored 31 points (!!!) and blocked 4 blocks.
Bertolini has relatively good stats this season: 13.7ppg, 2.6rpg, 3.4apg and 1.6spg.

#10.Dominic Calegari (208-F/C-87, college: Cal-Davis, currently plays in Spain) contributed to an easy victory against the league outsider Melilla Baloncesto 87-70 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) in Sunday night's game.
Calegari was the best player in that game. He had a double-double by scoring 25 points and getting 11 rebounds. Calegari also added 3 assists in 34 minutes.
He has relatively good stats this year: 13.3ppg, 6.0rpg and 1.3spg in the eight games.
Calegari is a naturalized American.
Strangely he has never played in Italy.
Oleggio Magic Basket (Serie B) tabbed 21-year old point guard Jacopo Lepri (180-75kg-95). He played most recently at Gazzada in Italian Serie C Gold.
