The game between third ranked Marghera (8-3) and fourth ranked Milano (8-3) was the most important one in the last round on Sunday night. Marghera was defeated by Milano in a tough game in Milano 59-65. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Marghera. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Milano made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 Marghera turnovers. The best player for the winners was center Alessandra Calastri (193-85) who scored 10 points and 9 rebounds. Marghera will play against San Salvatore (#10) and is hoping to win this game.
Virtus Cagliari can celebrate finally their first win this season after ten consecutive loses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Cremona, where they defeated Cremona (2-9) 74-62. Power forward Giulia Rulli (185-91) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 7 rebounds. Raffaella Costa contributed with 16 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Forward Giulia Maffenini (174-92) answered with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds for Cremona. Cremona's coach Andrea Anilonti rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. College Italia will play on the road against Consum.it Siena (#13) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
Bottom-ranked Consum.it Siena (0-10) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 92-35 loss to third ranked S.
