The most exciting game of round 10 in the A1 took place in Chieti. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 7th ranked CA Romagna (3-7) to eighth ranked C.U.S. Chieti (3-6) 55-54 in the game for the seventh place. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 25-15. But CA Romagna won second period 15-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Puerto Rican Jazmine Sepulveda (178-85, college: S.Florida, agency: Merit Sports) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 9 rebounds. Serbian center Jefimija Karakasevic (191-89) contributed with 8 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. American forward Kristen McCarthy (182-90, college: Temple) replied with 15 points and 9 rebounds for CA Romagna. C.U.S. Chieti moved-up to seventh place. CA Romagna at the other side dropped to the eighth position with seven games lost. C.U.S. Chieti are looking forward to face higher ranked Orvieto (#6) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. CA Romagna will have a break next round.
Important game to mention about took place in Parma. Third ranked Parma (7-2) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 4th ranked Umbertide (5-3) 64-61 on Sunday evening. Croatian center Sonja Kireta (198-76) had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Valeria Battisodo chipped in 16 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. At the losing side American D'Andra Moss (178-88, college: VCU, agency: Two Points) responded with 19 points. Parma have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 7-2 record having just three points less than leader Familia Schio. Umbertide at the other side dropped to the fifth place with three games lost. Parma will play against Priolo (#9) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Umbertide will play against Cagliari CUS (#11) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Bottom-ranked Priolo managed to get a second victory, breaking the two-game losing streak on Thursday night. This time they outleveled eleventh-ranked Cagliari CUS 83-55. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 28-point difference suggests that Priolo is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. Tania Seino notched a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds to lead the effort. Even 14 points by Cinzia Arioli did not help to save the game for Cagliari CUS. Cagliari CUS's coach Federico Xaxa gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Priolo (2-7) moved-up to ninth place. Cagliari CUS lost eighth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with eight games lost. Priolo will meet at home higher ranked Parma (#3) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Cagliari CUS will play against Umbertide (#5).

Cagliari CUS will play against Umbertide.
The game between 9th ranked Pall.Pozzuoli (2-8) and fifth ranked Taranto (6-3) in Pozzuoli on Sunday ended with biggest points difference. Guests from Taranto outscored Pall.Pozzuoli 93-39. It was a very good performance for Giulia Gatti who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Defending champion moved-up to fourth place. Pall.Pozzuoli lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth position with eight games lost. Taranto will face league's second-placed Lucca at home in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Pall.Pozzuoli will play against the league's leader Familia Schio (#1).

In the last game of round 10 Orvieto was beaten by Lucca on the road 52-44.
The most impressive performance of 10th round was 21 points and 11 rebounds by Shamela Hampton of Orvieto.


Parma - Umbertide 64-61

Important game to mention about took place in Parma. Third ranked Parma (7-2) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 4th ranked Umbertide (5-3) 64-61 on Sunday evening. Umbertide was ahead by 6 points at the halftime before a 25-12 third quarter run of Parma. They outrebounded Umbertide 41-30 including a 35-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Umbertide was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Croatian center Sonja Kireta (198-76) had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international guard Valeria Battisodo (177-88, agency: Two Points) chipped in 16 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest.
