Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Italians who are currently playing abroad.

Danilo Gallinari
Danilo Gallinari
#1. This week's number one is an international small forward Danilo Gallinari (205-88, agency: Players Group, currently plays in NBA). He led Denver Nuggets to a victory over the San Antonio Spurs (19-8) 112-106 in the NBA in Tuesday night's game. Gallinari was MVP of the game. He recorded 28 points (!!!) and grabbed 9 rebounds in 35 minutes on the court. The Denver Nuggets have 14-12 record this season. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. Gallinari has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 16.1ppg, 5.8rpg, 2.6apg, 2FGP: 46.3%, 3FGP: 31.0% and FT: 82.2% in the 25 games he played so far. Gallinari is currently a member of the Italian senior national team.

Marco Belinelli
Marco Belinelli
#2. Second place goes to an international guard Marco Belinelli (196-86, currently plays in NBA). Belinelli was the main contributor in a 1-point Chicago Bulls' victory against the Brooklyn Nets (13-12) 83-82 in the NBA on Saturday night. He was the best player in that game. Belinelli recorded 19 points and added 3 passes in 39 minutes. The Chicago Bulls have 14-10 record this season. But the season is still in it's first stage and everything can happen. It's Belinelli's first year with the team. He has relatively good stats this season: 9.3ppg, 1.8rpg, 1.2apg, 2FGP: 40.2%, 3FGP: 41.8% and FT: 87.0% in the 23 games. Belinelli played for the Italian national team in 2011.

Christian DiGiuliomaria
Christian DiGiuliomaria
#3. The Italian player who performed third best last week abroad was an experienced former international power forward Christian DiGiuliomaria (209-79, currently plays in Switzerland). DiGiuliomaria contributed to a Lugano Tigers' victory against the closely-ranked Monthey (8-4) 75-64 in the Swiss LNA last Sunday. He scored 9 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 27 minutes. Lugano Tigers (7-5) are placed fifth in the LNA. It's DiGiuliomaria's first season with the team. This year DiGiuliomaria's overall stats are: 10.0ppg, 3.0rpg, 2.0apg, 1.2spg, 2FGP: 61.5%, 3FGP: 45.5% and FT: 65.5% in the five games. He played for the Italian national team four years ago.

Amedeo Della Valle
Amedeo Della Valle
#4. Guard Amedeo Della Valle (196-93, currently plays college basketball in the States) managed to help Ohio State University to win against the Savannah State University (0-1) crushing them 85-45 in the NCAA last Wednesday. Della Valle recorded only 3 points. The Ohio State University has conference record this season. Della Valle's total stats this year are: 10.0ppg, 3.0rpg, 2.0apg and 1.2spg. He used to play for the Italian U18 national team back in 2010.

The list of other players, who all have Italian passport but never been selected to any of Italian national teams:

#1. Paulinho Boracini (183-G-84, currently plays in Brazil) led Pinheiros/Sky to a 2-point victory over the 12th-ranked Vila Velha (3-5) 92-90 in the Brazilian NBB last Thursday. He was the best player in that game. Boracini recorded a double-double by scoring 40 points and making 10 passes. He also added 4 blocks. E.C. Pinheiros/Sky Sao Paolo (14-3) is placed first in the NBB. It was his team's eighth consecutive victory in a row. But the season just started, so everything may happen. Boracini is currently first on the list of top scorers and also on the list of best passers (second place). He has individually a very good season with high stats. Boracini averages: 23.7ppg, 6.2rpg, 6.5apg and 2.2bpg. He has a dual citizenship: Italian and Brazilian. Despite Boracini's Italian passport, he previously played for the Brazilian U21 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Italian team.

#2. Guilherme Giovannoni (202-F-80, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in Brazil) was the major contributor in Brasilia's victory against the league outsider Tijuca TC (1-7) crushing them 73-53 in the Brazilian NBB in Saturday night's game. He recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and getting 18 rebounds. Giovannoni also added 5 assists (was perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line). Uniceub/BRB/Brasilia (2-2) is placed 13th in the NBB. But there are still lots of games to play and it's a long way to go. Giovannoni is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fourth year in Brasilia's roster. This season he has very high stats. Giovannoni averages: 18.0ppg, 11.3rpg and 3.3apg. He is another player who holds two passports: Italian and Brazilian.

#3. Marcelinho Huertas (191-PG-83, agency: Edge Sports, currently plays in Euroleague), who plays in Spain could not help Regal FC Barcelona in their last game. Despite Huertas' good performance the first-placed Regal FC Barcelona was edged 78-75 on the road by the much lower-ranked (#8) CSKA Moscow in the group F of Euroleague. He recorded 11 points and had 3 steals in 22 minutes. This year Huertas' overall stats are: 9.3ppg, 2.1rpg, 2.7apg and 1.1spg in the 10 games he played so far. Similarly like Giovannoni and Boracini above he has both Brazilian and Italian nationalities.

#4. Fulvio de Assis (187-G-81, currently plays in Brazil) led Sao Jose/Vinac to an easy victory against the league outsider Suzano (2-5) crushing them 100-80 in the Brazilian Paulista (second division) on Saturday night. de Assis recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points and making 17 passes. He also added 6 rebounds and 2 blocks. A.E. Sao Jose/Unimed/Vinac (14-5) is placed second in the Paulista. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. de Assis is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fourth year in Sao Jose/Vinac's roster. This season de Assis has relatively solid stats: 11.0ppg, 4.2rpg, 7.8apg and 2.3bpg. Similarly like three previous players above, he also holds two passports: Italian and Brazilian.

#5. Luis Felipe Gruber (205-F-85, currently plays in Brazil), who plays in the Brazilian NBB was not able to help Uberlandia (5-2) in their last game. Despite Gruber's very good performance Uberlandia lost 62-71 on the opponent's court to the lower-ranked (#8) Joinville. He was the top scorer with 26 points in 30 minutes. It was Uberlandia's first loss after three consecutive victories. Gruber belongs to league's top scorers and is ranked #7 with 17.3ppg. He also averaged so far 3.4rpg and 1.7apg in the seven games. Gruber has dual citizenship: Italian and Brazilian.

#6. Daniel Werner (203-F-87, college: Florida, currently plays in Ukraine), who plays in the Ukrainian Superleague was not able to secure a victory for Ferro-ZNTU (15-5) in their last game on Sunday. Despite his good performance Ferro-ZNTU was defeated 76-69 in Dnepropetrovsk by the much lower-ranked Dnipro (#12). Werner scored 13 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. This season he has relatively solid stats: 11.7ppg, 5.5rpg, 2.0apg and 1.4spg. Werner is a naturalized American. He used to play for Canadian Solar Bologna in Italian league.

#7. Jayson Granger (186-G-89, currently plays in Spain) couldn't help Asefa Estudiantes in their game against Baloncesto Fuenlabrada in the Spanish ACB.
