#1. This week's number one is an international small forward Danilo Gallinari (205-88, agency: Players Group, currently plays in NBA). He led Denver Nuggets to a victory over the San Antonio Spurs (19-8) 112-106 in the NBA in Tuesday night's game.
Gallinari was MVP of the game. He recorded 28 points (!!!) and grabbed 9 rebounds in 35 minutes on the court.
The Denver Nuggets have 14-12 record this season.
It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row.
But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen.
Gallinari has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 16.1ppg, 5.8rpg, 2.6apg, 2FGP: 46.3%, 3FGP: 31.0% and FT: 82.2% in the 25 games he played so far.
Gallinari is currently a member of the Italian senior national team.
#2. Second place goes to an international guard Marco Belinelli (196-86, currently plays in NBA). Belinelli was the main contributor in a 1-point Chicago Bulls' victory against the Brooklyn Nets (13-12) 83-82 in the NBA on Saturday night.
He was the best player in that game. Belinelli recorded 19 points and added 3 passes in 39 minutes.
The Chicago Bulls have 14-10 record this season.
But the season is still in it's first stage and everything can happen.
It's Belinelli's first year with the team.
He has relatively good stats this season: 9.3ppg, 1.8rpg, 1.2apg, 2FGP: 40.2%, 3FGP: 41.8% and FT: 87.0% in the 23 games.
Belinelli played for the Italian national team in 2011.
#3. The Italian player who performed third best last week abroad was an experienced former international power forward Christian DiGiuliomaria (209-79, currently plays in Switzerland). DiGiuliomaria contributed to a Lugano Tigers' victory against the closely-ranked Monthey (8-4) 75-64 in the Swiss LNA last Sunday.
He scored 9 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 27 minutes.
Lugano Tigers (7-5) are placed fifth in the LNA.
It's DiGiuliomaria's first season with the team.
This year DiGiuliomaria's overall stats are: 10.0ppg, 3.0rpg, 2.0apg, 1.2spg, 2FGP: 61.5%, 3FGP: 45.5% and FT: 65.5% in the five games.
He played for the Italian national team four years ago.
#4. Guard Amedeo Della Valle (196-93, currently plays college basketball in the States) managed to help Ohio State University to win against the Savannah State University (0-1) crushing them 85-45 in the NCAA last Wednesday.
Della Valle recorded only 3 points.
The Ohio State University has conference record this season.
Della Valle's total stats this year are: 10.0ppg, 3.0rpg, 2.0apg and 1.2spg.
He used to play for the Italian U18 national team
back in 2010.
The list of other players, who all have Italian passport but never been selected to any of Italian national teams:
#1.Paulinho Boracini (183-G-84, currently plays in Brazil) led Pinheiros/Sky to a 2-point victory over the 12th-ranked Vila Velha (3-5) 92-90 in the Brazilian NBB last Thursday.
He was the best player in that game. Boracini recorded a double-double by scoring 40 points and making 10 passes. He also added 4 blocks.
E.C. Pinheiros/Sky Sao Paolo (14-3) is placed first in the NBB.
It was his team's eighth consecutive victory in a row.
But the season just started, so everything may happen.
Boracini is currently first on the list of top scorers and also on the list of best passers (second place).
He has individually a very good season with high stats. Boracini averages: 23.7ppg, 6.2rpg, 6.5apg and 2.2bpg.
He has a dual citizenship: Italian and Brazilian.
Despite Boracini's Italian passport, he previously played for the Brazilian U21 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Italian team.
#2.Guilherme Giovannoni (202-F-80, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in Brazil) was the major contributor in Brasilia's victory against the league outsider Tijuca TC (1-7) crushing them 73-53 in the Brazilian NBB in Saturday night's game.
He recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and getting 18 rebounds. Giovannoni also added 5 assists (was perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line).
Uniceub/BRB/Brasilia (2-2) is placed 13th in the NBB.
But there are still lots of games to play and it's a long way to go.
Giovannoni is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fourth year in Brasilia's roster.
This season he has very high stats. Giovannoni averages: 18.0ppg, 11.3rpg and 3.3apg.
He is another player who holds two passports: Italian and Brazilian.
#3.Marcelinho Huertas (191-PG-83, agency: Edge Sports, currently plays in Euroleague), who plays in Spain could not help Regal FC Barcelona in their last game. Despite Huertas' good performance the first-placed Regal FC Barcelona was edged 78-75 on the road by the much lower-ranked (#8) CSKA Moscow in the group F of Euroleague.
He recorded 11 points and had 3 steals in 22 minutes.
This year Huertas' overall stats are: 9.3ppg, 2.1rpg, 2.7apg and 1.1spg in the 10 games he played so far.
Similarly like Giovannoni and Boracini above he has both Brazilian and Italian nationalities.
#4.Fulvio de Assis (187-G-81, currently plays in Brazil) led Sao Jose/Vinac to an easy victory against the league outsider Suzano (2-5) crushing them 100-80 in the Brazilian Paulista (second division) on Saturday night.
de Assis recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points and making 17 passes. He also added 6 rebounds and 2 blocks.
A.E. Sao Jose/Unimed/Vinac (14-5) is placed second in the Paulista.
It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row.
de Assis is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fourth year in Sao Jose/Vinac's roster.
This season de Assis has relatively solid stats: 11.0ppg, 4.2rpg, 7.8apg and 2.3bpg.
Similarly like three previous players above, he also holds two passports: Italian and Brazilian.
#5.Luis Felipe Gruber (205-F-85, currently plays in Brazil), who plays in the Brazilian NBB was not able to help Uberlandia (5-2) in their last game. Despite Gruber's very good performance Uberlandia lost 62-71 on the opponent's court to the lower-ranked (#8) Joinville.
He was the top scorer with 26 points in 30 minutes.
It was Uberlandia's first loss after three consecutive victories.
Gruber belongs to league's top scorers and is ranked #7 with 17.3ppg.
He also averaged so far 3.4rpg and 1.7apg in the seven games.
Gruber has dual citizenship: Italian and Brazilian.
#6.Daniel Werner (203-F-87, college: Florida, currently plays in Ukraine), who plays in the Ukrainian Superleague was not able to secure a victory for Ferro-ZNTU (15-5) in their last game on Sunday. Despite his good performance Ferro-ZNTU was defeated 76-69 in Dnepropetrovsk by the much lower-ranked Dnipro (#12).
Werner scored 13 points and grabbed 6 rebounds.
This season he has relatively solid stats: 11.7ppg, 5.5rpg, 2.0apg and 1.4spg.
Werner is a naturalized American.
He used to play for Canadian Solar Bologna in Italian league.
#7.Jayson Granger (186-G-89, currently plays in Spain) couldn't help Asefa Estudiantes in their game against Baloncesto Fuenlabrada in the Spanish ACB.
He scored 9 points, had 10 rebounds and dished 7 assists in 33 minutes.
His team lost 63-70.
This year Granger has relatively solid stats: 11.3ppg, 2.9rpg and 3.7apg in the 13 games.
He has Uruguayan and Italian nationalities.
Worth to mention Granger played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball.
#8.Samuel Cricelli (200-F-85, college: Caldwell, currently plays in United Kingdom) couldn't help Surrey Heat in their game against Newcastle Eagles in the British BBL. Despite his very good performance in Friday night's game Cricelli was the second best scorer with 17 points. He also added 9 rebounds, passed 3 assists and added 2 blocks.
This season Cricelli has relatively solid stats: 13.9ppg, 7.8rpg, 2.3apg and 1.3spg.
He has dual citizenship: Italian and British.
#9.Thyago Aleo (188-G-89, currently plays in Brazil) faced previously mentioned Luis Felipe Gruber in the Brazilian NBB last game.
Aleo led Joinville to a victory over the fourth-ranked Uberlandia 71-62.
He was the top player that evening. Aleo scored 19 points and added 3 passes in 40 minutes.
This year he has relatively solid stats: 12.0ppg, 3.9rpg, 4.0apg and 1.9bpg in the eight games.
Aleo holds both Italian and Brazilian passports.
Despite his Italian nationality, Aleo previously played for the Brazilian U18 national team and probably cannot be called to the Italian team.
#10. Experienced Alejandro Muro (187-G-74, agency: Players Group, currently plays in Uruguay) couldn't help Aguada in their game against Defensor in the Uruguayan LUB. Despite his very good performance on Saturday night He was the top scorer with 26 points (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!).
This season Muro has relatively solid stats: 12.3ppg, 2.4rpg and 3.3apg.
He has Italian and Uruguayan nationalities.

He had a double-double of 21 points and 16 rebounds, while his team edged out Cassino (#5, 6-3) 87-83. Roma Luiss is placed at 2nd position in their group in Italian Serie B. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Roma Luiss will need more victories to improve their 7-2 record. In the team's last game Ramenghi had a remarkable 60.0% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Roma Luiss, through which he has constantly improved. Francesco Ramenghi averages this season 14.2ppg and 8.3rpg.
Second best performed player last round was Olivier Giacomelli (198-SF-95, agency: Players Group) of San Miniato. He is naturalized Swiss in his first season at San Miniato. In the last game Giacomelli recorded impressive 25 points, 9 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course he led San Miniato to another comfortable win outscoring the higher-ranked Cecina (#1, 6-2) 86-61. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the top position in Group A. San Miniato consolidated its place in top 4 of the standings. His team's 6-3 record is not bad at all. Giacomelli is a newcomer at San Miniato and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.
Third place about best performers goes to forward Riccardo Pederzini (198-F-89) of Palestrina (#6). Pederzini scored 27 points. He was a key player of Palestrina, leading his team to a 94-88 win against the lower-ranked Catanzaro (#9, 4-4). Palestrina needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams in Group C. Their record at this point is 6 victories and 3 lost games. Pederzini has a very solid season. In 8 games in Italy he scored 17.5ppg.
Other top performing players last week: 4. Luca Ianes (203-F/C-80) of Vicenza - 16 points, 18 rebounds and 3 assists 5. Jacopo Balanzoni (203-C/F-93) of Lecco - 23 points and 5 rebounds 6.
