There were many interesting games last round. The round ended with change at the leadership position and favorites losing the games.

Round 12 in Lega 2 means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Jesi where host Fileni BPA Jesi (4-7) edged league's leader Tuscany Pistoia (8-3) 74-72 on Sunday evening. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 20-8. But Tuscany Pistoia won second period 29-23. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was the former international center Michele Maggioli (212-77) who scored 23 points, 5 rebounds and 4 blocks. American guard Jesse Sanders (190-89, college: Liberty) chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Panamanian swingman Michael Hicks (194-76, college: Texas A&M-CC) who recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. Fileni BPA Jesi maintains eleventh position with 4-7 record. Tuscany Pistoia at the other side dropped to the third place with three games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Givova Scafati. Tuscany Pistoia will play next round against C.de Latte BRE trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Fileni BPA Jesi will try to continue on its current victory against tenth ranked Pall.Trento on the road.
The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Givova Scafati as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Givova Scafati defeated 14th ranked Aget Service IM at home 89-81. It was a good game for American point guard Keddric Mays (183-84) who led his team to a victory with 24 points and 7 rebounds. Patrick Baldassarre contributed with 12 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American guard Paul Marigney (192-82, college: St.Mary's, CA) replied with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for Aget Service IM. Givova Scafati (9-3) have an impressive five-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Sigma Barcel. Aget Service IM at the other side keeps the fourteenth place with nine games lost. Aget Service IM will play next round against strong Novipiu Casale trying to get back on the winning streak. Givova Scafati will try to continue on its current victory against fifteenth ranked FCM Ferentino on the road.
An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Bologna. Third ranked Sigma Barcellona faced 4th ranked Biancoblu BO. Guests from Barcellona (9-3) defeated host Biancoblu BO (7-4) 80-64. Worth to mention a great performance of Troy Bell who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds. The best for the losing side was William Mosley with 8 points, 12 rebounds and 5 blocks. Sigma Barcellona have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Givova Scafati. Loser Biancoblu BO dropped to the fifth place with four games lost. They share the position with AcegasAps TR. Sigma Barcellona will meet at home Upea CdO (#13) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Biancoblu BO will play against LeGamberi Foods Forlì (#9) in Forli and hope to secure a win.
A very interesting game took place in Trieste. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 9th ranked Pall.Trento (5-6) to seventh ranked AcegasAps TR (7-4) 71-69 on Sunday evening. The winners were led by Brandon Brown who scored that evening 18 points and 8 rebounds. AcegasAps TR's coach Eugenio Dalmasson allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. AcegasAps TR have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Biancoblu BO. Pall.Trento lost third consecutive game. Pall.Trento at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the ninth position with six games lost. AcegasAps TR's next round opponent will be Tezenis VE (#8) in Verona. Pall.Trento will play at home against Fileni BPA Jesi and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
We should mention about the upset which took place in Brescia, where higher ranked C.de Latte BRE (6-5) lost at home to tenth ranked LeGamberi Foods Forlì (5-6) 93-97 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was Bo Spencer who scored 23 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. LeGamberi Foods Forlì moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Pall.Trento. Loser C.de Latte BRE dropped to the seventh position with five games lost. LeGamberi Foods Forlì will face higher ranked Biancoblu BO (#5) in Bologna in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.

In the last two games of round 12 bottom-ranked FCM Ferentino was defeated by Prima Veroli in a road game 79-68. Novipiu Casale beat Tezenis VE at home 79-72.

AcegasAps TR - Pall.Trento 71-69

A very interesting game took place in Trieste. It ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 9th ranked Pall.Trento (5-6) to seventh ranked AcegasAps TR (7-4) 71-69 on Sunday evening. Pall.Trento was ahead by 3 points at the halftime before a 22-12 third quarter run of AcegasAps TR. The winners were led by American power forward Brandon Brown (202-81, college: Tulane) who scored that evening 18 points and 8 rebounds and naturalized Argentinian point guard Ariel Filloy (189-87, agency: Interperformances) supported him with 18 points and 5 rebounds. AcegasAps TR's coach Eugenio Dalmasson allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even 21 points and 9 rebounds by the former international forward Luigi Dordei (202-81) did not help to save the game for Pall.Trento.
