There was no lack of interesting games this round. The round ended with defeat of the leader and favorites losing the games.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Torino (12-3) on the court of second ranked Matera on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by Matera 81-69. It ended at the same time the ten-game winning streak of Torino. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by Matera. Torino managed to win fourth quarter 21-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Matera shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 58.3 percentage. Naturalized Argentinian guard Carlos Sebastian Vico (190-86, agency: Players Group) stepped up and scored 19 points for the winners and swingman Andrea Vitale (199-82, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 13 points and 8 rebounds. Naturalized Polish power forward Jakub Wojciechowski (210-90) responded with 19 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Matera maintains second place with 12-4 record having just -1 point less than leader Torino. Torino at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. Matera are looking forward to face Mazzeo San Severo (#14) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Torino will play against Latina Basket (#17) and is hoping to win this game.
Very significant was Bari's (#7) 71-66 road victory against 8th ranked Firenze. Point guard Tommaso Laquintana (187-95) nailed 20 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side and Antonio Ruggiero accounted for 22 points. Forward Stefano Spizzichini (202-90) came up with 12 points and 9 rebounds for Firenze in the defeat. Bari maintains seventh place with 8-7 record. Firenze lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with eight games lost. They share it with Casalpusterlengo and Omegna. Bari will play against higher ranked Castelletto (#4) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Firenze will play against Casalpusterlengo (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
A very close game took place in Lucca between Agrigento and Lucca. Fourth ranked Agrigento (11-5) got a very close victory on the road over 5th ranked Lucca (9-6). Agrigento managed to escape with a 3-point win 86-83 on Sunday evening. The best player for the winners was Vincenzo Di Viccaro who scored 20 points. Walter Santarossa produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Agrigento moved-up to third place. Lucca at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fifth position with six games lost. They share it with Treviglio. Agrigento will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Lucca will play against Reggio Calabr. (#16) in Reggio Calabria and hope to secure a win.
Very important is a home loss of third ranked Castelletto (10-5) against eighteenth ranked Mirandola (5-11) on Sunday night. Host Castelletto was defeated by Mirandola in a tough game in Castelletto 66-75. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Castelletto.
