The most important game in the last round took place in Caserta between second ranked Banco di Sard. (11-3) and tenth ranked Juvecaserta (7-7) on Sunday night. Banco di Sard. was defeated by Juvecaserta in a tough game on the road 81-88. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Banco di Sard.. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 88-81. Juvecaserta dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Banco di Sard.'s 26 and made 24-of-28 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Serbian power forward Stevan Jelovac (208-89, agency: Beo Basket) scored 16 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international Marco Mordente (192-79) chipped in 14 points and 4 assists during the contest. American point guard Travis Diener (184-82, college: Marquette) responded with 25 points and 5 assists. Banco di Sard.'s coach Romeo Sacchetti rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Juvecaserta moved-up to seventh place, which they share with EA7 Armani and Trenkwalder RE. Banco di Sard. at the other side keeps the second position with three games lost. They share it with Montepaschi. Juvecaserta is looking forward to face Trenkwalder RE (#8) in Reggio Emilia in the next round. Banco di Sard. will play at home against Montepaschi Siena (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
SerieA top team - Cimberio Varese (13-1) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat sixteenth ranked VL Pesaro (2-12) 82-69. International forward Achille Polonara (202-91) notched a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds to lead the effort and Mike Green supported him with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Even 16 points by international point guard Daniele Cavaliero (188-84) did not help to save the game for VL Pesaro. VL Pesaro's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Cimberio Varese have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 13-1 record. VL Pesaro lost eleventh consecutive game. VL Pesaro at the other side stay at the bottom place with 12 games lost. Cimberio Varese will play against Umana Venezia (#10) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. VL Pesaro will play against Air Avellino (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in Milano was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Cantu (10-4) played at the court of 6th ranked Armani Milano (7-7). Cantu managed to secure a 8-point victory 84-76 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was Pietro Aradori who scored 25 points and 8 rebounds. Keith Langford produced 17 points for the hosts. Cantu have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 10-4 record. Loser Armani Milano dropped to the seventh place with seven games lost. They share the position with JuveCaserta and Trenkwalder RE. Cantu will meet at home SAIE3 BO (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Armani Milano will play against Enel Brindisi (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
An interesting game took place in Venezia where higher ranked Umana Venezia (6-8) was upset on its own court by fifteenth ranked Air Avellino (4-10) 97-93. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Umana Venezia. Kaloyan Ivanov orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points and 8 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Umana Venezia's coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Air Avellino moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Sutor MGR and Vanoli CR. Umana Venezia at the other side dropped to the tenth position with eight games lost. Air Avellino's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked VL Pesaro (#16) at home.
12th ranked Vanoli Cremona (4-10) was outscored at home by ninth ranked Trenkwalder RE (7-7) with the biggest margin this round 87-71 on Sunday night. Donnel Taylor scored 35 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners. Trenkwalder RE moved-up to seventh place, which they share with EA7 Armani and JuveCaserta. Loser Vanoli Cremona keeps the twelfth position with ten games lost. Trenkwalder RE will face Juvecaserta (#9) in Caserta in the next round. Vanoli Cremona will play on the road against Angelico Biella.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 14: Sutor MGR lost to Montepaschi on the opponent's court 79-93. Acea Virtus RM managed to outperform Angelico BI in a home game 67-59. Enel Brindisi managed to beat SAIE3 BO on the road 88-75.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 29 points and 11 rebounds by Christian Burns of Sutor MGR.



Montepaschi - Sutor MGR 93-79

Very expected game when 12th ranked Sutor Montegranaro (4-10) was defeated on the road by third ranked Montepaschi Siena (11-3) 93-79 on Monday. The game was mostly controlled by Montepaschi Siena. Sutor Montegranaro was better in fourth quarter 21-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Montepaschi Siena made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. American forward David Moss (196-83, college: Indiana St., agency: SportsTalent) scored 23 points to lead the charge for the winners and Georgian Viktor Sanikidze (203-86) chipped in 13 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. Five Montepaschi Siena players scored in double figures. American forward Christian Burns (203-85, college: Philadelphia) responded with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 11 rebounds and the former international power forward Valerio Amoroso (204-80) scored 23 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Banco di Sard. Loser Sutor Montegranaro keeps the twelfth position with ten games lost. Montepaschi Siena will face league's second-placed Banco di Sard. in Sassari in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Sutor Montegranaro will play at home against Lottomatica Roma (#5).

An interesting game took place in Venezia where higher ranked Umana Venezia (6-8) was upset on its own court by fifteenth ranked Air Avellino (4-10) 97-93. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Umana Venezia. Umana Venezia was ahead by 9 points at the halftime before a 26-12 third quarter run of Air Avellino. They made 23-of-29 charity shots (79.3 percent) during the game.
