The game with biggest difference of round 18 in Nazionale A was host Bari's (9-7) victory at home over one of their biggest challengers Castelletto (10-6) 86-76 on Sunday evening. Bari made 24-of-30 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 24 Castelletto turnovers and outrebounded them 36-25 including 27 on the defensive glass. 30 personal fouls committed by Castelletto helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Luca Bisconti (206-82) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Simone Bonfiglio (181-88) chipped in 21 points. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international point guard Federico Bolzonella (184-84) who recorded 19 points (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Bari have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Treviglio and Lucca. Castelletto at the other side keeps the fourth position with six games lost. Bari is looking forward to face Latina Basket (#18) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Castelletto will play against Casalpusterlengo (#10) and is hoping to win this game.
Leader Torino delivered the thirteenth victory. This time they beat 17th ranked Latina Basket (5-12) 86-68. It was a good game for naturalized Polish power forward Jakub Wojciechowski (210-90) who led his team to a victory with 21 points and 9 rebounds. Claudio Tommasini contributed with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Guard Tommaso Plateo (191-78) replied with 13 points for Latina Basket. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Torino maintains first position with 13-3 record. Latina Basket lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighteenth place with 12 games lost. Torino will play against Recanati (#14) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Latina Basket will play against Bari (#5) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
We should mention about the upset which took place in Mirandola, where higher ranked Recanati (6-10) lost to seventeenth ranked Mirandola (6-11) in a road game 79-88 on Monday. Luca Pignatti scored 19 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners. The best for the losing side was Attilio Pierini with 15 points. Mirandola moved-up to sixteenth place. Loser Recanati dropped to the thirteenth position with ten games lost. They share it with San Severo and Reggio Calabr.. Mirandola will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Recanati will play against the league's leader Torino (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
An interesting game took place in Reggio Calabria, where higher ranked Lucca (9-7) lost to sixteenth ranked Reggio Calabr. (6-10) in a road game 76-86. Luca Fontecchio notched 19 points and 8 rebounds to lead the effort. Reggio Calabr.'s coach Francesco Ponticiello allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Reggio Calabr. moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with San Severo and Recanati. Newly promoted Lucca keeps the fifth position with seven games lost. Reggio Calabr.'s next round opponent will be higher ranked Naturhouse Ferrara (#12) on the road and it may be quite challenging game. Lucca will play against Perugia (#17).
An interesting game took place in Omegna, where higher ranked Treviglio (9-7) was outleveled in a road game by ninth ranked Omegna (8-8) 71-40 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was Nika Metreveli who scored 13 points and 8 rebounds. Treviglio's coach Adriano Vertemati gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Omegna moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Chieti and Casalpusterlengo. Loser Treviglio keeps the fifth position with seven games lost. Omegna will face Chieti (#9) on the road in the next round. Treviglio will play against Mazzeo San Severo (#15).

Rest of the games of round 18 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Ferrara defeated Perugia in a road game 76-67. San Severo was beaten by Matera at home 76-80. Firenze was destroyed by Casalpusterlengo on the opponent's court 78-54.
