Experienced former international power forward Luca Bisconti (206-F/C-82) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Bari and that's him to receive a Eurobasket.com Nazionale A Player of the Week award for round 18. The 30-year old power forward had a double-double of 19 points and eleven rebounds, while his team beat Castelletto (#4, 10-6) 86-76. Bari is placed at 5th position in Italian Nazionale A. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Bari will need more victories to improve their 9-7 record. In the team's last game Bisconti had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range. He turned to be Bari's top player in his first season with the team. Luca Bisconti averages this season 13.3ppg and 7.6rpg.
The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 28-year old center Andrea Iannilli (207-C-84) of San Severo. Iannilli impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 17 points and 12 rebounds. Bad luck as San Severo was edged by the higher-ranked Matera (#2, 13-4) 80-76. This loss caused San Severo to drop to 15th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 6-10 record. Iannilli is a newcomer at San Severo and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.
The third best performed player last round was another Bari's star - Simone Bonfiglio (181-G-88). Bonfiglio scored 21 points. He was another key player of Bari, helping his team with a 86-76 win against slightly higher-ranked Castelletto (#4, 10-6). Bari needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 9 victories and 7 lost games. Bonfiglio has a very solid season. In 15 games in Italy he scored 11.5ppg. He also has FGP: 55.3% and 3PT: 42.6%.
The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc. The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
