An interesting game for Familia Schio (10-1) which hosted in Schio second-ranked Parma (8-3). First ranked Familia Schio had an easy win 84-62. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Parma. Familia Schio forced 25 Parma turnovers. International forward Raffaella Masciadri (188-80) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points. Belgian guard Kathy Wambe (176-81) contributed with 6 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners. Croatian center Sonja Kireta (198-76) replied with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds for Parma. Familia Schio have an impressive ten-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 10-1 record. Parma at the other side dropped to the third place with three games lost. They share the position with Taranto. Familia Schio are looking forward to face C.U.S. Chieti (#6) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Parma will play against Cagliari CUS and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 14: Lucca beat Cagliari CUS on the road 75-66. Orvieto lost to defending champion Taranto on its own court 54-71. Pozzuoli unfortunately lost to Priolo in a road game 63-67.
The most impressive performance of 14th round was 12 points and 6 rebounds by Elodie Godin of Familia Schio.


Cagliari CUS - Lucca 66-75

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Lucca (9-3) beat on the road 10th ranked Cagliari CUS (1-10) 75-66 on Sunday. Cagliari CUS trailed by 11 points at halftime and as many as 16 after three quarters before a 26-19 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 66-75 at the end of the game. Lucca forced 24 Cagliari CUS turnovers. American forward Adrienne Johnson (182-89, college: Louisiana Tech, agency: LBM Management) orchestrated the victory by scoring 18 points and 6 rebounds. Portuguese forward Mery Andrade (181-75, college: ODU) contributed with 6 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Four Lucca players scored in double figures. International guard Cinzia Arioli (178-84) replied with 23 points and Swedish guard Elin Eldebrink (174-88, agency: Josep and Nicolas) added 12 points and 9 assists in the effort for Cagliari CUS. Lucca moved-up to second place. Cagliari CUS lost tenth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with ten games lost. Lucca will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Cagliari CUS will play on the road against Parma (#3) and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.

Orvieto - Taranto 54-71

Very expected game when 9th ranked Orvieto (3-9) lost at home to fourth ranked Taranto (8-3) 71-54 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Taranto. Orvieto managed to win second period 18-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Orvieto to just 6 points in first quarter. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Taranto made 7 blocks. Lithuanian center Gintare Petronyte (196-89) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks. Israeli guard Liron Cohen (173-82) contributed with 19 points and 5 assists for the winners. American center Shamela Hampton (191-87, college: UNLV) replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds and her fellow American import forward Aishah Sutherland (187-90, college: Kansas, agency: Two Points) added 13 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Orvieto. Taranto have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion moved-up to third place, which they share with Parma. Orvieto lost seventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the eighth position with nine games lost. They share it with Pozzuoli. Taranto is looking forward to face Priolo (#7) at home in the next round. Le Mura Lucca - Famila Schio 66-80 Famila Wuber Schio have won Final Four Coppa Italia in Venice. They beat Le Mura Lucca 80-66 in the Final game. Le Mura Lucca took control of the game in the first quarter and led 20-15 at the end of the first 10 minutes. They still remained in front at the halftime with a narrow 31-30 lead, but then Famila Schio dominated the court.
