The fans could enjoy quite many interesting games in the last round. The round ended with defeat of the leader and favorites losing the games.

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Sigma Barcellona (11-5) at the home court on Sunday night. Hosts were rolled over by tenth ranked Pall.Trento (6-9) 89-70. The game was mostly controlled by Pall.Trento. Sigma Barcellona managed to win third quarter 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Pall.Trento made 18-of-19 free shots (94.7 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of Nigerian-American point guard Michael Umeh (188-84, college: UNLV, agency: Two Points) who helped to win the game recording 28 points (made all of his twelve free throws !!!). American guard Barry Elder (197-82, college: Georgia Tech) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Guard Marco Giuri (194-88) replied with 18 points and 5 rebounds for Sigma Barcellona. Newly promoted Pall.Trento maintains tenth position with 6-9 record, which they share with FCM Ferentino. Sigma Barcellona at the other side still keeps top place with five games lost. Pall.Trento is looking forward to face higher ranked Givova Scafati (#4) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Sigma Barcellona will have a break next round.

In the last two games of round 16 AcegasAps TR was beaten by Aget Service IM on the road 70-58. LeGanberi FO won against Prima Veroli on its own court 84-73. Novipiu Casale unfortunately lost to Biancoblu BO in Bologna 74-81.
The most impressive performance of 16th round was 35 points (!!!) and 6 assists by Ricky Harris of Biancoblu BO.

Givova Scafati - Upea CdO 75-80 OT

Upea Capo d'Orlando snatched an overtime victory over Givova Scafati on the road. A.Mason came up with 23 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. T.Battle added 20 points as Capo d'Orlando improved at 5-10 record. K.Mays answered with 23 points for Givova Scafati in the losing effort.

Aget Service IM - AcegasAps TR 70-58

There was a surprise result when fifteenth ranked Aget Service IM (5-11) beat higher ranked AcegasAps TR (8-7) in Imola 70-58 on Sunday. The game without a history. Aget Service IM led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Aget Service IM forced 20 AcegasAps TR turnovers. AcegasAps TR was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for the former international forward Rodolfo Valenti (198-80) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. Swingman Matteo Frassineti (195-87) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Belarusian Mikita Meshcharakou (202-88, college: Wake Forest) replied with 14 points and 9 rebounds and power forward Luca Gandini (205-85) added 6 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for AcegasAps TR. AcegasAps TR's coach Eugenio Dalmasson rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Aget Service IM maintains fifteenth position with 5-11 record. Newly promoted AcegasAps TR keeps the seventh place with seven games lost. Aget Service IM will face higher ranked Prima Veroli (#12) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.

Rather expected game when 11th ranked Prima Veroli (5-10) lost to ninth ranked LeGamberi Foods Forl (8-7) in Forli 73-84 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 84-73. It was a very good performance for Bosnian-Serbian forward Miroslav Todic (205-85) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points and 16 rebounds. American point guard Bo Spencer (186-89, college: Nebraska) contributed with 22 points for the winners. American guard Paul Marigney (192-82, college: St.Mary's, CA) replied with 22 points and Latvian swingman Mareks Jurevicus (197-85) added 15 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Prima Veroli. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. LeGamberi Foods Forl moved-up to seventh place, which they share with AcegasAps TR and Tezenis VE. Loser Prima Veroli dropped to the twelfth position with ten games lost. LeGamberi Foods Forl will face Tezenis VE (#7) in Verona in the next round. Biancoblu BO - Novipiu Casale 81-74

There was a small surprise when sixth ranked Biancoblu BO (9-6) won against 3rd ranked Novipiu Casale (10-5) in Bologna 81-74 on Sunday. Novipiu Casale was trailing by 3 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 19-11 charge of Biancoblu BO, which allowed them to win the game. They dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Novipiu Casale's 24. Strangely Novipiu Casale outrebounded Biancoblu BO 45-27 including a 18-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for American guard Ricky Harris (188-87, college: Massachusetts) who helped to win the game recording 35 points (!!!) and 6 assists. Power forward Giovanni Pini (204-92, agency: Two Points) contributed with 11 points and 9 rebounds for the winners.
