The game had a very big importance for thirteenth-ranked Upea CdO as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Upea CdO edged higher ranked Biancoblu BO in Capo d'Orlando 85-82. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The hosts trailed by 10 points after three quarters before their 32-19 charge, which allowed them to win the game. American forward Anthony Mason (201-87, college: St.John's) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import point guard Talor Battle (183-88, college: Penn St.) chipped in 24 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Donato Cutolo (198-87, agency: Players Group) responded with 24 points and 5 rebounds. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with 3 other teams. Biancoblu BO at the other side keeps the sixth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Givova Scafati. Biancoblu BO will play next round against Fileni BPA Jesi trying to get back on the winning streak. Upea CdO will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Novipiu Casale at home.
Important game to mention about took place in Pistoia. Second ranked Tuscany Pistoia (11-5) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 9th ranked LeGamberi Foods Forli (8-8) 79-76 on Sunday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of LeGamberi Foods Forli. American guard Antonio Graves (191-85, college: Pittsburgh, agency: Two Points) nailed 23 points and 4 steals for the winning side and Fiorello Toppo accounted for 18 points and 6 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Bosnian-Serbian forward Miroslav Todic (205-85) came up with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 18 rebounds for LeGamberi Foods Forli in the defeat. LeGamberi Foods Forli's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Tuscany Pistoia maintains second place with 11-5 record having just -5 point less than leader Upea CdO, which they share with Novipiu Casale and Sigma Barcel. LeGamberi Foods Forli at the other side dropped to the eighth position with eight games lost. They share it with AcegasAps TR and Tezenis VE. Tuscany Pistoia will play against Tezenis VE (#9) in Verona in the next round and are hoping to win another game. LeGamberi Foods Forli will play at home against the league's second-placed Sigma Barcellona and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game in Trieste was also quite interesting. Fifth ranked C.de Latte BRE (10-6) played at the court of 8th ranked AcegasAps TR (8-8). C.de Latte BRE managed to secure a 9-point victory 80-71 on Sunday. C.de Latte BRE have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain fifth place with 10-6 record. Newly promoted AcegasAps TR keeps the eighth position with eight games lost. They share it with LeGamberi FO and Tezenis VE. C.de Latte BRE will meet at home Givova Scafati (#6) in the next round. AcegasAps TR will play against FCM Ferentino and hope to secure a win.
An interesting game took place in Jesi where higher ranked Tezenis VE (8-8) was upset on the court of twelfth ranked Fileni BPA Jesi (6-10) 71-64. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Jesse Sanders orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 8 rebounds. Fileni BPA Jesi keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Tezenis VE at the other side dropped to the eighth place with eight games lost. Fileni BPA Jesi's next round opponent will be Biancoblu BO (#7) in Bologna which should be theoretically an easy game. Tezenis VE will play at home against Tuscany Pistoia.
An interesting game took place in Trento where 4th placed Givova Scafati (9-7) was upset on the court of tenth ranked Pall.Trento (7-9) 98-87 on Sunday. Davide Pascolo stepped up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners. Despite that victory Pall.Trento went down to eleventh position due to points difference. Givova Scafati lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth place with seven games lost. Pall.Trento will face Prima Veroli (#12) at home in the next round.

In the last two games of round 17 bottom-ranked Aget Service IM lost to Prima Veroli on the opponent's court 74-78. Novipiu Casale managed to outperform FCM Ferentino in a home game 85-76.
