Eighth-ranked Orvieto (3-10) gave a tough game to fifth ranked Umbertide (8-4) on Sunday. Umbertide managed to secure only two-point victory 68-66. However their fans expected easier game. Umbertide dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Orvieto's 36. Umbertide forced 24 Orvieto turnovers. It was a great evening for American power forward Courtney Willis (188-82, college: E.Carolina, agency: LBM Management) who led her team to a victory scoring 20 points and 6 rebounds. Dutch power forward Naomi Halman (191-86, college: Cal-Irvine) helped adding 13 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Spanish point guard Lorena Infantes (171-81, agency: Regeneracom Sports) with 19 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Umbertide maintains fifth place with 8-4 record. Orvieto lost eighth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the ninth position with ten games lost. Umbertide are looking forward to face Priolo (#7) on the road in the next round. Orvieto will have a break next round.

It was a quality performance for American center Jantel Lavender (190-88, college: Ohio St.) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. Elodie Godin accounted for 2 points and 13 rebounds. American-Puerto Rican Jazmine Sepulveda (178-85, college: S.Florida, agency: Merit Sports) came up with 19 points and 5 rebounds for C.U.S. Chieti in the defeat. C.U.S. Chieti's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Familia Schio have an impressive series of eleven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 11-1 record. Newly promoted C.U.S. Chieti keeps the sixth position with eight games lost. Familia Schio will play against Taranto (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. C.U.S. Chieti will play against the league's second-placed Lucca and hopes to get back on the winning track.

In the last two games of round 15 Priolo lost to Taranto on the opponent's court 47-63. Parma managed to outperform Cagliari CUS in a home game 77-60.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 20 points and 11 rebounds by Sonja Kireta of Parma.



Taranto - Priolo 63-47

Rather expected game when 7th ranked Priolo (4-9) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Taranto (9-3) 63-47. It looked good early as Priolo took an 4-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Taranto had a 16-11 second period charge getting the lead and Priolo was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 47-63. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Priolo to just 7 points in fourth quarter. Taranto forced 26 Priolo turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Megan Mahoney (183-83, college: Kansas St., agency: LBM Management) who led the winners and scored 9 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. French power forward Nicole Antibe (187-74) accounted for 15 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Cuban forward Tania Seino (186-73) came up with 8 points and 6 rebounds and the former international guard Valentina Donvito (170-78) added 11 points respectively for Priolo in the defeat. Taranto have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Parma and Lucca. Priolo at the other side keeps the seventh position with nine games lost. Taranto will play against league's leader Familia Schio on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Priolo will play against Umbertide (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Parma - Cagliari CUS 77-60

Very predictable result when third ranked Parma (9-3) defeated at home 10th ranked Cagliari CUS (1-11) 77-60. The game was mostly controlled by Parma. Cagliari CUS was better in fourth quarter 23-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 17-of-19 charity shots (89.5 percent) during the game. Parma outrebounded Cagliari CUS 45-32 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for New Zealand-American forward Jillian Harmon (185-87, college: Stanford) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. Croatian center Sonja Kireta (198-76) accounted for 20 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side. Swedish guard Elin Eldebrink (174-88, agency: Josep and Nicolas) came up with 24 points and 6 rebounds and guard Erika Striulli (171-90) added 11 points respectively for Cagliari CUS in the defeat. Parma moved-up to second place, which they share with Taranto and Lucca. Cagliari CUS lost eleventh consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 11 games lost. Parma will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Cagliari CUS will play at home against Pall.Pozzuoli (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
