The game in Umbertide supposed to be quite interesting. Second ranked Lucca (11-3) played at the court of 5th ranked Umbertide (8-6). Lucca did not have too big problems ending evening with a very confident victory 66-48 on Sunday. The game without a history. Lucca led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Umbertide to just 7 points in third and fourth quarters. They outrebounded Umbertide 35-17 including a 24-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Adrienne Johnson (182-89, college: Louisiana Tech, agency: LBM Management) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds. Portuguese forward Mery Andrade (181-75, college: ODU) contributed with 10 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. American D'Andra Moss (178-88, college: VCU, agency: Two Points) answered with 20 points and 6 steals for Umbertide. Umbertide's coach Lorenzo Serventi rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Lucca have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place with 11-3 record behind leader Familia Schio. Umbertide at the other side keeps the fifth position with six games lost. Lucca are looking forward to face Parma (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Umbertide will play against the league's leader Familia Schio and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.

Croatian center Sonja Kireta (198-76) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds for the winners and Francesca Zara chipped in 11 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. American-Puerto Rican Jazmine Sepulveda (178-85, college: S.Florida, agency: Merit Sports) responded with 27 points. C.U.S. Chieti's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Parma maintains third place with 10-3 record having just two points less than leader Familia Schio. C.U.S. Chieti lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the seventh position with ten games lost. Parma will play against league's second-placed Lucca on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. C.U.S. Chieti will play against Pall.Pozzuoli (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last game of round 17 Cagliari CUS was smashed by Taranto on the road 86-60.

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Taranto (10-4) crushed at home 10th ranked Cagliari CUS (2-12) 86-60. The game without a history. Taranto led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Cagliari CUS's 38. Taranto forced 20 Cagliari CUS turnovers and outrebounded them 24-9 including a 19-8 advantage in defensive rebounds. French power forward Nicole Antibe (187-74) stepped up and scored 26 points (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field) for the winners and American forward Megan Mahoney (183-83, college: Kansas St., agency: LBM Management) chipped in 17 points and 8 rebounds. Four Taranto players scored in double figures. Taranto's coach Roberto Ricchini felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
