There were many interesting games last round. The round ended with favorites losing the games and games ending by tiny margin.

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Capo d'Orlando. First ranked Upea CdO faced 3rd ranked Novipiu Casale. Host Upea CdO (7-10) defeated guests from Casale (11-6) 94-81. The hosts trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 94-81. Upea CdO dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Novipiu Casale's 36. They outrebounded Novipiu Casale 38-20 including a 15-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American point guard Talor Battle (183-88, college: Penn St.) who scored 29 points and 5 assists. Naturalized American guard Donte Mathis (190-77, college: Texas St., agency: Two Points) chipped in 19 points and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Upea CdO's coach Gianmarco Pozzecco used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international swingman Niccolo Martinoni (202-89) who recorded 24 points. Upea CdO have a solid three-game winning streak. Despite that victory Upea CdO went down to eleventh position due to points difference, which they share with FCM Ferentino. Novipiu Casale at the other side keeps the third place with six games lost. They share the position with C.de Latte BRE. Upea CdO is looking forward to face Prima Veroli (#13) on the road in the next round. Novipiu Casale will play against C.de Latte BRE (#4) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
The game in Forli was also worth to mention about. Second ranked Sigma Barcellona (12-5) played at the court of 8th ranked LeGamberi Foods Forli (8-9). Sigma Barcellona managed to secure a 4-point victory 81-77. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of LeGamberi Foods Forli. It was a good game for American point guard Taurean Green (184-85, college: Florida) who led his team to a victory with 20 points. Jobey Thomas contributed with 17 points for the winners. Bosnian-Serbian forward Miroslav Todic (205-85) replied with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds for LeGamberi Foods Forli. Sigma Barcellona keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Giorgo Tesi PT. LeGamberi Foods Forli at the other side dropped to the seventh place with nine games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Sigma Barcellona will play against Tezenis VE (#7) in Verona in the next round where they are favorite. LeGamberi Foods Forli will play at home against FCM Ferentino and hopes to get back on the winning track.
A very close game took place in Verona between Tuscany Pistoia and Tezenis VE. Fourth ranked Tuscany Pistoia (12-5) got a very close victory on the road over 9th ranked Tezenis VE (8-9). Tuscany Pistoia managed to escape with a 3-point win 67-64 on Sunday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Fiorello Toppo had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 14 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners. The best for the losing side was Olaseni Lawal with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 16 rebounds. Tuscany Pistoia keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Sigma Barcel. Loser Tezenis VE dropped to the seventh place with nine games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Tuscany Pistoia will meet at home Biancoblu BO (#5) in the next round. Tezenis VE will play against the league's leader Sigma Barcellona and hope to secure a win.
We should mention about the upset which took place in Ferentino, where 10th ranked AcegasAps TR (8-9) lost to thirteenth ranked FCM Ferentino (7-10) in a road game 73-86. Delroy James notched a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds to lead the effort. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. FCM Ferentino moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Upea CdO. AcegasAps TR lost third consecutive game. AcegasAps TR at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the seventh position with nine games lost. FCM Ferentino's next round opponent will be higher ranked LeGamberi Foods Forli (#10) on the road and it may be quite challenging game.
The game with biggest result difference took place in Bologna. Local Biancoblu BO (10-7) outscored 14th ranked Fileni BPA Jesi (6-11) 90-62 on Sunday night. The best player for the winners was Ricky Harris who scored 32 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Biancoblu BO moved-up to fifth place. Loser Fileni BPA Jesi dropped to the thirteenth position with 11 games lost. Biancoblu BO will face league's second-placed Tuscany Pistoia on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Fileni BPA Jesi will play against Aget Service IM (#15) in Imola and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
