The game between third ranked Montepaschi Siena (13-6) and fifteenth ranked VL Pesaro (5-14) was the most important one in the last round on Monday night. Montepaschi Siena was defeated by VL Pesaro in a tough game in Pesaro 73-78. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 78-73. VL Pesaro made 28-of-34 free shots (82.4 percent) during the game. VL Pesaro forced 20 Montepaschi Siena turnovers. 29 personal fouls committed by Montepaschi Siena helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of Croatian point guard Rok Stipcevic (185-86) who helped to win the game recording 27 points and 8 rebounds. American forward Lamont Mack (201-87, college: Charlotte) contributed with 9 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Bobby Brown (188-84, college: CS Fullerton) answered with 30 points for Montepaschi Siena. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. VL Pesaro moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Sidigas AV. Defending champion Montepaschi Siena keeps the third position with six games lost. VL Pesaro is looking forward to face league's second-placed Banco di Sard. in Sassari in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Montepaschi Siena will play at home against Angelico Biella and is hoping to win this game.
Another exciting game for Enel Brindisi (10-9) which hosted 4th placed Cantu (12-7). Eighth ranked Enel Brindisi won 69-65. It was a great evening for American point guard Jonathan Gibson (188-87, college: N.Mexico St., agency: Three Eye Sports) who led his team to a victory scoring 29 points and 6 rebounds. Cedric Simmons helped adding 11 points. At the losing side Belgian point guard Jonathan Tabu (190-85) responded with 14 points and 4 steals. Cantu's coach Andrea Trinchieri rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Enel Brindisi moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Trenkwalder RE and Umana VE. Cantu at the other side keeps the fourth position with seven games lost. They share it with EA7 Armani and Acea Virtus RM. Enel Brindisi will play against Umana Venezia (#7) on the road in the next round. Cantu will play against the league's leader Cimberio Varese having rather not much hope for a victory.
Bottom-ranked Air Avellino managed to get a fifth victory, breaking the series of four consecutive loses on Sunday night. This time they won against twelfth-ranked Vanoli Cremona 93-81. It was an exceptional evening for Jeremy Richardson who led the winners and scored 20 points. Luca Vitali came up with 17 points and 6 assists (made all of his eight free throws) for Vanoli Cremona in the defeat. Air Avellino (5-14) moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Pesaro. Loser Vanoli Cremona dropped to the eleventh position with 12 games lost. They share it with SAIE3 BO. Air Avellino will meet higher ranked SAIE3 BO (#11) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Vanoli Cremona will play against Sutor Montegranaro and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
SerieA top team - Cimberio Varese (16-3) had no problems winning another game. This time they beat eleventh ranked SAIE3 BO (7-12) 78-61. Bryant Dunston fired 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 blocks (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Cimberio Varese's coach Francesco Vitucci allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Cimberio Varese maintains first place with 16-3 record. SAIE3 BO at the other side keeps the eleventh position with 12 games lost. Cimberio Varese's next round opponent will be Cantu (#4) on the road. SAIE3 BO will play against Air Avellino (#15).
Worth to mention about the upset in a game between Juvecaserta (8-11) and Sutor Montegranaro (6-13), which took place in Montegranaro. 10th ranked Juvecaserta was outleveled in a road game by thirteenth ranked Sutor Montegranaro 97-76 on Sunday. It was a very good performance for Christian Burns who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 9 rebounds. Sutor Montegranaro's coach Carlo Recalcati felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sutor Montegranaro maintains thirteenth place with 6-13 record. Loser Juvecaserta keeps the tenth position with 11 games lost. Sutor Montegranaro will face higher ranked Vanoli Cremona (#12) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.

Other games in round 19 were not that significant. EA7 Armani beat Acea Virtus RM on the road 79-66. Angelico BI lost to Trenkwalder RE on its own court 65-72. Umana VE was outscored by Banco di Sard. in Sassari 84-108.
