Here is the weekly review of the top performing Italian players, who play currently abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an international small forward Danilo Gallinari (205-88, agency: Players Group, currently plays in NBA). He was the major contributor in a Denver Nuggets' victory against the Boston Celtics (28-26) 97-90 in the NBA in Tuesday night's game. Gallinari scored 26 points (!!!), grabbed 5 rebounds and dished 5 assists in 39 minutes on the court. The Denver Nuggets have a solid 34-21 record this season. It was his team's first victory after three consecutive loses. Gallinari has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 17.3ppg, 5.5rpg, 2.4apg, 2FGP: 45.6%, 3FGP: 37.8% and FT: 80.8% in the 52 games he played so far. Gallinari is currently a member of the Italian senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to former international guard Marco Belinelli (196-86, currently plays in NBA), who plays in the NBA. He could not help the Chicago Bulls (31-22) in their last game on Wednesday. Despite Belinelli's good performance the Chicago Bulls were edged 71-69 on the road by the Boston Celtics. He was the top scorer with 12 points. Belinelli has relatively good stats this season: 9.6ppg, 1.7rpg, 1.7apg, 2FGP: 43.1%, 3FGP: 35.9% and FT: 83.2%. He played for the Italian national team in 2011.

   #3. The Italian player who performed third best last week abroad was former international power forward Andrea Bargnani (209-85, currently plays in NBA). Bargnani contributed to a Toronto Raptors' victory against the Washington Wizards (15-37) 96-88 in the NBA on Tuesday night. He scored 9 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 26 minutes. The Toronto Raptors have 22-33 record this season. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. It's Bargnani's seventh year with the team. Bargnani has very impressive stats this season: 14.0ppg, 3.8rpg, 1.2apg, 2FGP: 45.5%, 3FGP: 29.5% and FT: 83.6% in the 27 games. He played for the Italian national team two years ago.

   #4. Guard Amedeo Della Valle (196-93, currently plays college basketball in the States) helped Ohio St. win their game against the University of Minnesota (5-8) crushing them 71-45 in the NCAA last Wednesday. He scored 6 points in only 7 minutes. The Ohio State University has a solid 9-5 conference record this season. There are only four games left until the end of the NCAA Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It's Della Valle's first year with the team. This season Della Valle has relatively solid stats: 11.4ppg, 5.1rpg, 2.0apg and 1.4spg in the 30 games. He used to play for the Italian U18 national team back in 2010.


The list of other players, who all have Italian passport but never been selected to any of Italian national teams:

   #1. Experienced Nestoras Kommatos (203-F-77, currently plays in Greece) led AGOR to a victory over the tenth-ranked Ilysiakos (5-12) crushing them 95-68 in the Greek A1 last Sunday. He was MVP of the game. Kommatos scored 24 points. A.G.O Rethymno Aegean (11-6) is placed fifth in the A1. Kommatos' overall stats this season are: 9.0ppg and 3.9rpg.

   #2. Mauricio Aguiar (197-F-83, agency: Players Group, currently plays in Uruguay) was the main contributor in Hebraica's victory against the third-ranked Sayago (5-5) crushing them 92-66 in the Uruguayan LUB on Monday night. He was MVP of the game. Aguiar recorded 28 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 6 assists in 36 minutes. Hebraica Macabi (2-5) is placed eighth in Serie 1. Aguiar has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 18.7ppg, 3.2rpg and 3.5apg in the 32 games he played so far. Aguiar has a dual citizenship: Italian and Uruguayan.

   #3. Marcelinho Huertas (191-PG-83, agency: Edge Sports, currently plays in Spain) contributed to a 2-point Regal FC Barcelona's victory against the 16th-ranked Baloncesto Fuenlabrada (6-15) 72-70 in the Spanish ACB last Sunday. Huertas scored 8 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 23 minutes. Regal FC Barcelona (13-8) is placed sixth in the ACB. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. Huertas is currently sixth on the league's list of best passers with 3.8apg. This year he also averages: 8.8ppg, 2.3rpg and 1.1spg in the 21 games. Huertas is another player who holds two passports: Brazilian and Italian.

   #4. Fulvio de Assis (186-PG-81, currently plays in Brazil) contributed to an Sao Jose/Vinac's victory against the 12th-ranked Winner/Limeira (9-13) 83-79 in the Brazilian NBB on Thursday night. He was MVP of the game. de Assis scored 19 points and added 8 assists. A.E. Sao Jose/Unimed/Vinac (14-5) is placed second in the NBB. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. It's de Assis' fourth season with the team. He is currently first on the list of best passers. de Assis has very reliable stats this season: 11.6ppg, 3.7rpg, 8.0apg and 1.5bpg. He has both Italian and Brazilian nationalities.

   #5. Leandro Garcia Morales (186-PG-80, college: Texas A&M, currently plays in Uruguay) contributed to Aguada's victory against the eighth-ranked Hebraica (2-5) 88-80 in the Uruguayan LUB in Friday night's game. Garcia Morales was MVP of the game. He recorded 36 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 5 assists (made all of his eight free throws) in 35 minutes. Atletico Aguadais placed first in Serie 1. Garcia Morales has very impressive stats this year: 26.2ppg, 6.5rpg, 5.1apg and 1.7spg in the 31 games. He also holds two passports: Italian and Uruguayan.

   #6. Samuel Cricelli (200-F-85, college: Caldwell, currently plays in United Kingdom), who plays in the British BBL could not help one of league's weakest teams Surrey Heat (14-7) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Cricelli's very good performance Surrey Heat was edged 91-89 on the road by the higher-ranked Plymouth Raiders (#4). He was the top scorer with 26 points. Cricelli also added 7 boards, handed out 5 passes and blocked 4 shots. This season Cricelli has relatively solid stats: 14.5ppg, 8.1rpg and 2.6apg. He holds both Italian and British passports.

   #7. Guilherme Giovannoni (203-F-80, agency: Interperformances, currently plays in Brazil) contributed to Brasilia's victory against the closely-ranked Paschoalotto/Bauru 90-79 in the Brazilian NBB in Monday night's game. Giovannoni scored 14 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. He is currently fourth on the league's list of best rebounders and also on the list of most steals (third place). This season Giovannoni has very high stats. He averages: 17.6ppg, 7.8rpg, 2.1apg and 1.1bpg. Giovannoni has dual citizenship: Italian and Brazilian.

   #8. Luis Felipe Gruber (205-F-85, currently plays in Brazil) contributed to an easy victory against one of league's weakest teams Tijuca TC crushing them 83-63 in the Brazilian NBB last Saturday. He was MVP of the game. Gruber scored 19 points, had 6 rebounds and made 2 blocks in 31 minutes. He has very impressive stats this year: 15.6ppg, 4.2rpg and 1.5apg in the 23 games. Gruber holds both Italian and Brazilian passports.

   #9. Federico Bavosi (185-G-81, currently plays in Uruguay) was the major contributor in an Union Atletica's victory against the second-ranked Trouville 84-73 in a derby game in the Uruguayan LUB on Friday night. He recorded 22 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Bavosi belongs to league's best passers and is ranked #3. He has very reliable stats this season: 13.0ppg, 5.1rpg, 6.3apg and 1.1spg. Bavosi has Italian and Uruguayan nationalities. Despite his Italian passport, Bavosi previously played for the Uruguayan U21 national team and is probably not eligible to play for the Italian team.

   #10. Daniel Werner (203-F-87, college: Florida, currently plays in Ukraine), who plays in the Ukrainian Superleague was not able to help Ferro-ZNTU (19-12) in their last game. Despite his very good performance Ferro-ZNTU lost 68-75 at home to the leading Budivelnyk. Werner was the second best scorer with 16 points. He also added 4 rebounds in 26 minutes. This year Werner has relatively solid stats: 11.4ppg, 5.1rpg, 2.0apg and 1.4spg in the 30 games. He is a naturalized American. Werner used to play for Canadian Solar Bologna in Italian league.

Cocinas.com CB Clavijo Logrono (LEB Gold) agreed terms with American guard Bryce Pressley (193-95kg, college: Portland). He already started the season at JuveCaserta in Italian Serie A. He was also voted All-WCC 2nd Team in 2016 at his college time. The previous (12-13) season Pressley played at another team Pilots in U.S. semi-pro league NCAA1 where in 29 games he had 3.8ppg, 2.4rpg and 1.4apg.
