Valenti
Bottom-ranked Aget Service IM managed to get a sixth victory, breaking the two-game losing streak on Sunday night. This time they edged eighth-ranked Pall.Trento in Imola 76-74. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Pall.Trento. The hosts trailed by 10 points after three quarters before their 22-10 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Aget Service IM made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. They also forced 24 Pall.Trento turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Rodolfo Valenti (198-80) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 9 rebounds and American point guard D.J. Gay (183-89, college: San Diego St.) who added 18 points during the contest. The former international power forward Luca Garri (207-82) responded with 13 points and 9 rebounds. Aget Service IM maintains fifteenth position with 6-13 record. Newly promoted Pall.Trento keeps the eighth place with ten games lost. Aget Service IM are looking forward to face league's second-placed Tuscany Pistoia on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Pall.Trento will play against Biancoblu BO (#5) in Bologna and is hoping to win this game.
Lega 2 top team - Sigma Barcellona (14-5) added another victory to their record. This time they beat twelfth ranked FCM Ferentino (7-12) 79-71. The winners were led by naturalized American forward Craig Callahan (203-81, college: NC-Wilmington, agency: Three Eye Sports) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and Taurean Green supported him with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Even 20 points and 6 rebounds by American-Guyanese forward Delroy James (203-87, college: Rhode Island) did not help to save the game for FCM Ferentino. FCM Ferentino's coach Franco Gramenzi rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Sigma Barcellona have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 14-5 record, which they share with Giorgo Tesi PT. Newly promoted FCM Ferentino keeps the twelfth place with 12 games lost. They share the position with Fileni BPA Jesi and Prima Veroli. Sigma Barcellona will play against Novipiu Casale (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. FCM Ferentino will have a break next round.
Thirteenth-ranked Fileni BPA Jesi (7-12) gave a tough game to third ranked Novipiu Casale (13-6) on Sunday. Novipiu Casale managed to secure only four-point victory 94-90. However their fans expected much easier game. The best player for the winners was Rodney Green who scored 26 points and 6 rebounds. Michele Maggioli produced a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 15 rebounds and 5 blocks for the guests. Fileni BPA Jesi's coach Stefano Cioppi tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Novipiu Casale maintains third position with 13-6 record having just -5 point less than leader Sigma Barcel. Fileni BPA Jesi at the other side dropped to the twelfth place with 12 games lost. They share the position with Prima Veroli and FCM Ferentino. Novipiu Casale will meet league's leader Sigma Barcellona on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Fileni BPA Jesi will play against LeGamberi Foods Forli (#7) and hope to secure a win.
Fourth ranked C.de Latte BRE (12-7) beat at home 11th ranked Prima Veroli (7-12) by 12 points 87-75, which is the biggest margin this round. J.R. Giddens orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. C.de Latte BRE's coach Alberto Martelossi allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. C.de Latte BRE maintains fourth position with 12-7 record. Prima Veroli at the other side dropped to the twelfth place with 12 games lost. C.de Latte BRE's next round opponent will be Tezenis VE (#9) in Verona where they are favorite. Prima Veroli will play at home against Givova Scafati.
