  follow us on Facebook Twitter

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Torino (20-4) on the court of thirteenth ranked Mirandola on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by Mirandola 83-73. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Torino. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Mirandola made 18-of-20 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game. Point guard Jordan Losi (182-80) scored 21 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Luca Pignatti (195-86) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. point guard Lorenzo Gergati (188-84) responded with 30 points. Mirandola (11-13) moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Chieti. Torino at the other side still keeps top position with four games lost. Mirandola is looking forward to face Perugia (#18) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Torino will play against Reggio Calabr. (#10) in Reggio Calabria and is hoping to win this game.
Fifth ranked Omegna (13-9) crushed at home 17th ranked Mazzeo San Severo (8-16) by 27 points 84-57, which is the biggest margin this round. Forward Stefano Masciadri (200-89) notched 15 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and Nika Metreveli supported him with 14 points and 5 rebounds. Omegna's coach Giampaolo Di Lorenzo felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 15 points and 5 rebounds by guard Gionata Zampolli (189-85) did not help to save the game for Mazzeo San Severo. Omegna moved-up to fourth place. Mazzeo San Severo lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventeenth position with 16 games lost. Omegna will play against Casalpusterlengo (#9) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Mazzeo San Severo will play against Recanati (#16) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 26: Matera won against Recanati on the opponent's court 82-71. Casalpusterlengo managed to outperform Latina Basket in a home game 75-67. Perugia recorded a loss to Castelletto on the road 79-72. Reggio Calabr. defeated Chieti on its own court 80-76. Ferrara was beaten by Lucca in a road game 63-52. Treviglio won against Firenze at home 86-75.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 31 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists by Davide Poltroneri of Perugia.

Recanati - Matera 71-82

Very expected game when 16th ranked Recanati (8-14) was defeated at home by second ranked Matera (16-8) 82-71. The game was mostly controlled by Matera. Recanati was better in fourth quarter 25-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Matera players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Recanati's players.
