Forward Riccardo Pederzini (198-F-89) had an amazing evening in the last round for Treviglio, receiving a Eurobasket.com Nazionale A Player of the Week award for round 26. The 23-year old player was the main contributor (21 points, six rebounds and three assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Firenze (#13, 10-12) 86-75. Treviglio is placed at 6th position in Italian Nazionale A. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Treviglio will need more victories to improve their 13-10 record. It was one of impressive evenings for Pederzini as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Riccardo Pederzini averages this season 11.5ppg.
The second best player in last round's games was 27-year old Davide Poltroneri (195-SG-85) of Perugia. Poltroneri had a very good evening with 31 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Bad luck as Perugia lost that game 72-79 to the higher-ranked Castelletto (#3, 14-10). Perugia is still in a red zone at 18th spot in the standings. 18 lost games are too many comparing to just six victories Perugia managed to get this year. Poltroneri is one of the most experienced players at Perugia and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.8ppg (#1). He also registered 4.6 boards per game.
Third on the list of top players last round was Argentinian swingman Augustin Fabi (199-G/F-91) of Reggio Calabr. (#10). Fabi scored 20 points and grabbed five rebounds. He was a key player of Reggio Calabr., leading his team to a 80-76 win against slightly lower-ranked Chieti (#12, 11-13). Reggio Calabr. needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 12 victories and 11 lost games. Fabi has a very solid season. In 23 games in Italy he scored 9.1ppg. He also has 4.2rpg and FGP: 53.6%. Augustin Fabi has also Italian passport and can play in the league with a status of domestic player.
