Sandri
Fifth-ranked Udine (12-10) gave a tough game to second ranked San Martino (19-3) on Sunday. The visitors from San Martino di L managed to secure only two-point victory 52-50. However their fans expected easier game. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Udine won third quarter 13-10. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when San Martino won last quarter 14-14. San Martino outrebounded Udine 33-20 including 22 on the defensive glass. The former international power forward Martina Sandri (185-88) had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and swingman Marta Granzotto (176-92) chipped in 9 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side forward Arianna Zampieri (183-88) responded with 16 points (made all of her eight free throws). San Martino have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position in North with 19-3 record having just two points less than leader Umana Reyer. Udine lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh place with ten games lost. They share the position with Alghero.

Romanian forward Simina Mandache (185-81) notched a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and Francesca Melchiori supported her with 11 points and 5 rebounds. Umana Reyer's coach Andrea Liberalotto felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 18 points and 9 rebounds by naturalized Argentinian guard Laura Nicolini (174-75) did not help to save the game for Virtus Cagliari. Umana Reyer have an impressive 17-game winning streak. Newly promoted Umana Reyer maintains first position in North with 21-1 record. Virtus Cagliari at the other side keeps the eleventh place with 15 games lost. They share the position with Valmadrera.
A2 top team - Ragusa (20-1) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed seventh ranked Meccanica NB (11-9) 74-50. Sara Crudo produced 13 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Ragusa have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position in South with 20-1 record. Loser Meccanica NB keeps the seventh place with nine games lost.
Bottom-ranked Consum.it Siena (0-21) is still winless. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. Worth to mention a great performance of Lauma Reke who helped to win the game recording 13 points and 9 rebounds.
