Leader Torino delivered the twentieth first win on Sunday night. This time they crushed 10th ranked Reggio Calabr. (12-12) 80-59. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Reggio Calabr.. They outrebounded Reggio Calabr. 44-30 including 30 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was naturalized Polish power forward Jakub Wojciechowski (210-90) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds. Power forward Filippo Baldi Rossi (207-91) chipped in 14 points and 11 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was naturalized Argentinian swingman Augustin Fabi (199-91) who recorded 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Torino maintains first place with 21-4 record. Reggio Calabr. at the other side keeps the tenth position with 12 games lost. Torino are looking forward to face Omegna (#6) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Reggio Calabr. will have a break next round.
The game in Bari was also worth to mention about. Fifth ranked Agrigento (14-10) played at the court of 8th ranked Bari (12-11). Agrigento defeated Bari 77-63. It was a good game for forward Fabio Mian (196-92) who led his team to a victory with 16 points. Roberto Chiacig contributed with 14 points for the winners. Agrigento's coach Franco Ciani allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The former international power forward Luca Bisconti (206-82) answered with 20 points and 6 rebounds for Bari. Agrigento moved-up to third place, which they share with Castelletto. Bari lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with 11 games lost. Agrigento will play against Casalpusterlengo (#5) at home in the next round. Bari will play against Lucca (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
A very close game took place in Ferrara between Naturhouse Ferrara and Treviglio. Fourteenth ranked Naturhouse Ferrara (10-14) got a very close home victory over higher ranked Treviglio (13-11). Naturhouse Ferrara managed to escape with a 1-point win 71-70 on Sunday evening.
