Leader Torino delivered the twentieth first win on Sunday night. This time they crushed 10th ranked Reggio Calabr. (12-12) 80-59. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Reggio Calabr.. They outrebounded Reggio Calabr. 44-30 including 30 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was naturalized Polish power forward Jakub Wojciechowski (210-90) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds. Power forward Filippo Baldi Rossi (207-91) chipped in 14 points and 11 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was naturalized Argentinian swingman Augustin Fabi (199-91) who recorded 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Torino maintains first place with 21-4 record. Reggio Calabr. at the other side keeps the tenth position with 12 games lost. Torino are looking forward to face Omegna (#6) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Reggio Calabr. will have a break next round.
The game in Bari was also worth to mention about. Fifth ranked Agrigento (14-10) played at the court of 8th ranked Bari (12-11). Agrigento defeated Bari 77-63. It was a good game for forward Fabio Mian (196-92) who led his team to a victory with 16 points. Roberto Chiacig contributed with 14 points for the winners. Agrigento's coach Franco Ciani allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The former international power forward Luca Bisconti (206-82) answered with 20 points and 6 rebounds for Bari. Agrigento moved-up to third place, which they share with Castelletto. Bari lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with 11 games lost. Agrigento will play against Casalpusterlengo (#5) at home in the next round. Bari will play against Lucca (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
A very close game took place in Ferrara between Naturhouse Ferrara and Treviglio. Fourteenth ranked Naturhouse Ferrara (10-14) got a very close home victory over higher ranked Treviglio (13-11). Naturhouse Ferrara managed to escape with a 1-point win 71-70 on Sunday evening. It was a great evening for Michele Benfatto who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Matteo Raminelli with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. Newly promoted Naturhouse Ferrara maintains fourteenth place with 10-14 record. Loser Treviglio dropped to the seventh position with 11 games lost. They share it with Lucca. Naturhouse Ferrara will meet Recanati (#15) on the road in the next round. Treviglio will play against the league's second-placed Matera (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
We should mention about the upset which took place in Perugia, where higher ranked Mirandola (11-14) lost to eighteenth ranked Perugia (7-18) in a road game 63-69. It was an exceptional evening for Paolo Chiarello who led the winners and scored 12 points and 9 rebounds. Mirandola's coach Antonio Tinti rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Perugia maintains eighteenth place with 7-18 record. Newly promoted Mirandola dropped to the twelfth position with 14 games lost. Perugia's next round opponent will be higher ranked Chieti (#13) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.

Other games of round 27 were very predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Chieti was defeated by Matera in a road game 69-60. San Severo was beaten by Recanati at home 54-71. Omegna lost to Casalpusterlengo on the opponent's court 71-87. Firenze managed to outperform Latina Basket in a home game 86-81.

Matera - Chieti 69-60

There was no surprise when 12th ranked Chieti (11-14) was defeated on the road by second ranked Matera (17-8) 69-60. The game without a history. Matera led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Matera outrebounded Chieti 38-26 including 28 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for the former international power forward Massimo Rezzano (203-82) who led the winners and scored 22 points and 9 rebounds. Naturalized Argentinian guard Carlos Sebastian Vico (190-86, agency: Players Group) accounted for 12 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. Five Matera players scored in double figures. point guard Manuel Diomede (188-90, agency: Two Points) came up with 21 points and the former international center Emanuele Rossi (208-82) added 4 points and 13 rebounds respectively for Chieti in the defeat. Matera have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 17-8 record having four points less than leader Torino. Chieti lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with 14 games lost. Matera's next round opponent will be Treviglio (#7) on the road which should be theoretically an easy game. Chieti will play against Perugia (#18).
