29-year old forward Kevinn Pinkney (207-F-83) put on an amazing game in the last round for Angelico BI and receives a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 22. He had a double-double of 28 points and 10 rebounds, while his team lost the game against Cimberio VA (#1, 18-4) 82-92. Angelico BI moved-up to the 16th position in the Italian league. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked at the very bottom. They already lost 17 games and recorded just five victories. In the team's last game Pinkney had a remarkable 83.3% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Angelico BI, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Kevinn Pinkney averages this season 19.2ppg and 9.7rpg.
Second best performed player last round was Kaloyan Ivanov (205-F-86, agency: Beo Basket) of Sidigas AV. He is Bulgarian forward in his first season at Sidigas AV. In the last game Ivanov recorded impressive double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds. Of course Sidigas AV cruised to a 86-78 relatively comfortable win over the higher-ranked Banco di Sard. (#2, 17-5). This victory allowed Sidigas AV to move up to 12th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 7-14 record. Ivanov is a newcomer at Sidigas AV and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.
Third place about best performers goes to forward Antywane Robinson (203-F-84, agency: Priority Sports) of Enel Brindisi (#9). Robinson scored 17 points and grabbed ten rebounds. Despite Robinson's great performance Enel Brindisi lost 90-94 to the lower-ranked Pesaro (#15, 6-16). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Enel Brindisi ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 12 games, recording just ten victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Robinson could help Enel Brindisi to bring them higher in the standings. Robinson has a very solid season. In 22 games in Italy he scored 12.9ppg. He also has 5.4rpg and FGP: 53.5%.
Other top performing players last week: 4. Alessandro Gentile (198-G/F-92) of EA7 Armani - 23 points and 6 rebounds 5. Troy Bell (186-PG-80) of Trenkwalder RE - 26 points and 5 rebounds 6. Ebi Ere (195-G/F-81) of Cimberio VA - 25 points and 2 rebounds 7. Luca Vitali (201-PG-86) of Vanoli CR - 22 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists 8. Szymon Szewczyk (209-C-82) of Umana VE - 23 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists 9. Gani Lawal (205-C/F-88) of Acea Virtus RM - 14 points and 14 rebounds 10. Jordan Taylor (185-PG-89) of Acea Virtus RM - 21 points, 3 rebounds and 5 assists
The Player of the week is choosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc. The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
