Cras Taranto posted the second straight win in the Euroleague. They followed the victory over TTT Riga with an impressive success against one of the tournament favorites Ros Casares. Rebekkah Brunson (191-F/C-81, agency: LBM Management, college: Georgetown) stepped up with 23 points and 12 boards to lead the Italian team to the win. The game belonged to the hosts right from the start. Rebekkah Brunson and Elodie Godin (190-C-85) teamed up for 20 points in the opening quarter as Taranto claimed a 24:17 lead after ten minutes. Ros Casares narrowed the distance in the second period and stayed close. Snell tied things up at 33 late in the half but Rebekkah Brunson sent the teams into the locker rooms with Taranto leading by 2 points 35:33. The hosts tipped off the second half with 10 points in a row boosting the margin. Soon Mahoney gave Taranto a 60:36 advantage. Jami Montagnino (173-G-85, college: Tulane) capped the term with a three-pointer as the Italian outfit enjoyed a comfortable 65:47 lead. Ros Casares reacted with a 10:2 rally at the start of the final period to trim the gap. Montanana pulled the Spaniards within 5 with 41 seconds to go in regulation but Greco and Jami Montagnino sealed the winning outcome from the stripe. Elodie Godin provided 12 points for Taranto. Jami Montagnino added 11 points in the victory. Delisha Milton-Jones (186-F-74, college: Florida) replied with 18 points for Ros Casares. Rebekka Hammon (168-G-77, college: Colorado St.) and Erika De Souza (197-C-82) had 13 points each in defeat.

Polish Wisla continued to pile up victories in Euroleague. They registered the fourth straight success edging Beretta in Krakow. Marta Fernandez (178-F-81) scored 17 points and dished out 13 assists to keep Wisla on top of Group B ladder. Schio in the meantime suffered just the first defeat in the season.

Nicole Antibe (187-C/F-74) and Masciadri opened the game with five points for Schio. The Italian team looked confident in the starting stanza and rallied to a 25:16 lead at the first break. However Wisla opened the second frame with 9 points in a row to level things up. Masciadri and Nicole Antibe did not allow the hosts to surge ahead keeping Schio in charge. Macchi and Masciadri capped the half with four straight points as the visitors enjoyed a 43:36 advantage. Schio stayed in front early in the third frame but soon Wisla started their rescue mission. Majewska knocked down a jumper to ignite a 13:0 run from the home team. Wisla spurred in front and clinched a 62:59 lead after thirty minutes of action. Janell Burse (197-C-79, college: Tulane), Marta Fernandez and Liron Cohen (173-G-82) stretched the advantage at 9 points at the beginning of the fourth term. Liron Cohen, Marta Fernandez and Iziane Castro (183-G/F-82) connected from beyond the arc as Wisla opened up a double-digit lead late in the game. Schio had no answer for the onslaught and gave in at the end. Liron Cohen scored 17 points for Wisla. Janell Burse contributed 16 points and 12 boards, while Iziane Castro added 14 points in the victory. Nicole Antibe had 17 points and 8 boards for Schio. Bernadette Ngoyisa (195-C-82) tallied 16 points in defeat.

Vomero Basket Napoli announced signing of Sabrina Palie (177-G-81). The 28-year old guard is coming to Italy from the French team Union Hainaut, where she spent last season. For 10 appearances in Euroleague Palie averaged 3.9 ppg and 1.7 rpg. She also appeared 25 times in LFB adding 6.2 ppg, 1.8 rpg and 2 apg.
Sabrina Palie is already a familiar face in Italy. Namely, she spent couple of seasons with Acer Priolo in the past. In her last one with Priolo (2007/08), Palie collected 10 [read more]

Maybe the most important one is Eurobasket.com All-Italian A1 Bosman Player of the Year -06. That year she also received invitation to join French National Team. She already made a debut for her new team scoring 17 points against GMA Napoli. She will try to help Vomero to survive this season in Serie A1 after poor start.
